Chapter 12

Annelise

"Ann, wake up!" I hear Louis' voice shout before I feel the sheets that lay atop of me be ripped off.

I groan. "What do you want?"

"It's Christmas morning!"

I shoot awake. Holy shit. It's Christmas!

Then I see Louis' hand gesturing a small rectangular box to me. Smiling, I take the box and anticipatedly open it. Inside, there's a small glass perfume bottle. He gets me the same thing every year, but I love that he does that. It gives me something to expect every year.

"Thank you, Louis," I say, setting the box on my nightstand, "so much."

"Of course, Annie."

"Wait–Why are you in the Hufflepuff common room? You're a Slytherin!"

"It's Christmas! Being is a separate house from you isn't gonna stop me from giving you my present!"

Makayla

I groan, sitting up from my bed. I'm too tired for this shit. Of course, it's Christmas morning, why wouldn't it be? The rest of my family is somewhere in England, or maybe America, and I'm stuck here at a punk ass school that has a nine pm curfew.

When I walk downstairs into the main room in the Slytherin common room, I am not surprised to see no presents. Not for me anyhow.

Louis is walking back in by the time I get downstairs. He was probably giving his sister a present, he's not a complete dick, and that's coming from me.

"Happy Christmas, Malfoy," Louis says, sitting on the couch.

I give him a glare as I search through the presents by the fire. I know that it's unlikely that my family got me something, but there's always a chance.

Not to my surprise, there's nothing for me, but I do see a small box with someone else's name on it.

Louis Lupin

I glance back at him, he isn't paying attention. Typical. Then, I take the box and put it in my pocket, walking back up to my room.

I don't know why I took it. Maybe it is jealousy, or just me being mean. But I know one thing now: I have a random box and have no idea what to do with it.
