"Regina, si Narda sinugod sa hospital," Ali said nervously after he received the news from one of the emt's
"What!" Regina felt the blood drain from her body, this is the first time something serious happened to Narda, she didn't know that she got stuck like she can't move her body, and there are little tremors all over. Now she knows she's not a fight or flight person when it comes to Narda
"Regina, ano? pupuntahan ba natin?" Ali eagerly asked, he knows the other person is in shock, that's why he held her wrist and drag her out of the office towards their car
"Ali, what happened?" she tried to relax but if she was going to see Narda in the worst condition she might go mad, she need to have an idea of what she'll see there
"Nasa banko daw siya, eh biglang may nang-holdup, si Narda tumulong daw kaya siya nabaril" Regina didn't know what came over her she was frustrated and worried
"Ali! can't you go any faster?"
"Malapit na tayo, Regina"
Regina ran as if her life depended on it, good thing she knows where Narda was confined, when she got to the room, she didn't expect or forgot that Narda's family where also there. This is the first time they'll be meeting her and not in a good circumstance. But her eyes are still focused on the one person more important than anything else, Narda is laying on the bed still unconscious, and her arm is now wrapped in a bandage.
She didn't know that she was getting closer to her because her body just automatically finds where Narda is. She looked at her sleeping face carefully and then looked at her body and started to notice some bruises. Her brows are now knitted at the sight of it
"Ma'am Regina, upo muna po kayo," Ding said that made her look at him
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm Regina, Narda's friend" she walked over to Lola Berta and pay her respect, and thanked Ding for the seat
"Kilala ka naman namin Regina, ikaw pa, eh ikaw lang naman ang Atty. na madalas tumulong dito sa Nueva Esperanza" said Lola Berta proudly, knowing Narda's friends are of good character. Regina can't help but smile with a bit of embarrassment
"Thank you po, pero ang naging inspirasyon ko naman po ay ang nanay ni Narda," She said smiling and looking over at her friend who is still sleeping
"Sabi niya kasi, ang pinakamalaking kasalanan ay kung may kakayahan kang tumulong pero hindi mo ginawa" she smiled and then she knitted her forehead again after realizing that the same phrase is also the cause of why Narda is in a hospital bed right now
There is brewing anger deep within Regina, she is now conflicted about these life-changing words uttered by Leonor. Narda her daughter instilled these words making her vulnerable to danger if only she could prevent this from happening and only she could protect her. But no, she won't restrain Narda, she is her own person, she is brightness personified, and anything or anyone dampens that brightness, they will have to answer to Regina
There is a movement beside her, Regina along with her thoughts became long forgotten when she sees Narda starting to wake up
"Ate!" Ding started as he rushed toward her sister crying
"Ate, akala ko iiwan mo na din ako tulad ni nanay," he said crying softly
"Ano ka ba Ding, andito ako buhay na buhay oh! Hindi kita iiwan" She said reassuringly
"Apo, buti naman at nagising ka na, alalang alala kami" Lola Berta also started crying
"Pasensiya na La, pinag alala ko kayo" Narda sorrowfully replied, then she sees Regina right beside her on the other side of the bed
"Regina!? Bakit andito ka?" she's shocked, who told Regina that she was here
"Idiot." Regina eyed her shoulder then she grabbed her hand, caressed it, and put it on her cheek
"Don't ever do it again" Narda knows the meaning of it, as much as she wants to help others, looking at Regina almost breaking apart also breaks her heart
"I won't, I promise"
