he hung up the phone.

you stared at your phone, facing the "call ended" screen.

so he did still have your contact.

why didn't he ever call?

the fact that he wasn't showing up upset you a bit.

you shook your head lightly and turned around to face the guards at the door.

they allowed you in, of course, and you could hear popular k-pop songs playing throughout the ballroom.

two people were standing by the entrance, conversing.

they turned and spotted you.

"n/n!! it's so great to see you in-person again!"

nari embraced you tightly.

joowon was behind her, smiling.

"did you ever find out if sky was coming?"

she asked.

you told the two of them what had just happened.

"awe, but you two were amazing dance partners,"

she whined.

"he said he was busy,"

you shrug.

"i'm sure you'll meet again,"

joowon smiled.

"attention!! i'd like to get my people who attended last year to make their way to the center of the ballroom!!"

the person on the microphone caught your attention, and you three all walked to the middle.

"how many of you participated in the "maniac" dance?"

the guy on the mic asked.

you raised your hand, followed by nari, jowoon, and four other people.

"one...two...oh, we're missing someone?"

the guy counted.

"yeah, he said he couldn't make it,"

you shouted.

"well, that's a shame, considering you'd be able to meet the person you danced as last year in exactly five minutes!"

his words led you to be bewildered.

"what do you mean??"

a guy asked.

"the stray kids have come to the masquerade to meet the seven of you that participated! woo!"

everyone in the center cheered and screamed of happiness.

you'd get to meet felix!!!

"now, remember, only the seven of you can talk to them,"

the microphone guy specified, making everyone else "boo."

"please follow me,"

he made sure there was only seven of you, and led you to the room secretly.

he opened the door, and woah.

he wasn't lying.

the stray kids was in front of you.

you tried to contain your scream by covering your mouth.

"step out, hello we are stray kids,"

the eight of them bowed.
