Nick's POV
I spent hours being interrogated by Vance and Gibbs about my undercover work
My stomach was still reeling from seeing Sofía for the first time in 14 years since I thought she died
We did want similar things after all I just didn't expect her to do that
But we all have to do terrible things to the ones we love in the agent/undercover business right?
We walked out of the interrogation room I spotted her at her desk, she looked as beautiful as ever older than ever too but 14 years from 18 does make a huge difference from anything else
"Hey did local LEOs in Buenos Aires question Leo Silva?" She said as one of the many men handed her a paper with information on it
"It doesn't matter Silva's here in D.C." Gibbs said
"He's attending an event today connecting North American oil companies with their southern counterparts" the man said as she looked down and searched something on her laptop
"Uh it's a big deal Gibbs, " she said getting up to show them what she's seeing "all week, Washington's hosting a fossil fuel summit. Bigwigs and politicos as far as the eye can see"
"Boss, Silva got here 2 days ago; that is enough time to for him to put out a hit on the Campbell's, go to the party and then leave town" the man said
"Not until he gets what he wants" I said telling them the truth, an angry man will stop at nothing to get what he wants
"You Lucia and the rest of the family dead" Sofía said already knowing what will happen and I nodded
"Let me face him" I asked Gibbs "that's not how we do things" Gibbs said "Gibbs, I know this man I know how he operates you cannot sideline me" I begged him, I have to protect my family that's the only thing that I really truly have left
Soon After
I had the encounter with Leo Silva it when as well as you would expect he didn't shoot so that's good but we're all still in danger
Meanwhile with Sofía
Sofía's POV
My phone was ringing my heart was pounding as I waited for him to answer
"Hello?" I heard a thick Spanish accent like mine but manly "Romeo" I said voice shaking as I said his name for the first time in years
"Fía what can I do for you?" My older brother asked
I have 4 older brothers Zantiago (yes spelled with a z my parents are difficult) Valentino Zayn and Romeo
"Can you please take Jason Aidette Luis and Bella?" I asked nervously in fear of his reaction
"What happened?" Romeo asked "Nicholas knows I'm alive and needs to stay with me, I don't want the kids around right now knowing they are in danger" I said embracing my Spanish accent that I tone down for work as no one can understand me expect Nick
"Like how much danger are we talking about little sister?" He asked concerned "Leo Silva level danger Romeo, I need you to guard those kids with your life" I said
"I will come to get them in an hour" he said and hung up the phone
Later on that night after Nick was done at Gibbs house he went Sofía's, she owned a large house something she bought with her saved up pay checks
He didn't say anything, they didn't ride together he followed her in his car which he parked in her garage to hide it from likely being tampered with
They went inside through the garage, Sofía tossed her eyes on the table and went to get something to snack on as it had been a long day
"Guest bedrooms are down the hallway you have your own bathroom if anything is missing let me know" she said not looking at him as she ate caramel apple slices and some water
Nick didn't scoff he just kept looking at her wanting answers
Sofía turned around to look at him "oh where are my manners do you want food or something to drink?" She said realizing she hadn't ask him that
"Water is fine any chance for a sandwich?" Nick said smiling at her
Sofía smiled back at him moving her long silky brown hair and got some water from the fridge and tossed it to him
He caught it with ease and also noticed she was wearing a necklace, a necklace that had the promise ring he gave her and the engagement ring he gave her for their 18th birthday (same day couple hours apart) then she vanished on the 6th
She made the sandwich and handed it to him without saying anything just going upstairs to sleep after all they have a lot to do and not a lot of time
