EMILIA'S LAUGHTER filled Jude's ear as a funny scene in Mean Girl's played. They were sitting on the couch in his living room watching the classic movie he had suggested.
He found it adorable how she knew so many of the lines. He adored the way her nose scrunched up with each laugh. A small part of him felt guilty about the bet. However, his need to win triumphed any ounce of guilt he had felt.
"Isn't Karen so funny?" She says in between chuckles as she glances at him. He lets out a laugh as the blonde character said another line.
"She's hilarious."
She scrunches up her nose and focuses back on the movie. He knew he had to officially ask her out now. "Hey, Emilia?"
Emilia hums as she turns to him. She furrows up her eyebrows, "What's up?" She asks while noticing his serious demeanor.
"Well, you know, it's our second date, right?" Jude begins, pretending to act like he was nervous. She hums again while nodding. "And I just- I really like you."
She raises her eyebrow in surprise. A hopeful smile creeps up her lips, "Really?" She asks in a soft voice.
"Really." He responds, matching her smile. "And I was wondering if," He trails off. He grabs her shaking hands as he looks at her. "you'd officially be my girlfriend."
In the back of Emilia's mind, she was screaming and cheering for joy. She kept her calm as she nods in response. "I'd love to."
Jude watches a hopeful and happy look in her eyes as she smiles at him. He felt something different from seeing her smile.
However, guilty feeling came back at her reaction. He told Jamal to not worry since he wouldn't hurt her. Seeing how happy she seemed convinced him that he wouldn't keep his promise of not hurting her. Not to mention how intimidating her father is despite being an amazing teammate.
Worst of all, Jude thinks he's starting to fall
for Emilia.
