When Megumi was alone in the tiny apartment that Toji didn't have to pay rent for because he was sleeping with the landlord, he often thought about what it would be like to have someone care about him. Someone who would ask him about his day and would hold him so warmly because he was their most important person. Maybe somewhere along, he began to gradually lose hope for it.

"Where are we going?" Megumi questions, furrowing his eyebrows. They've been on the road for much longer than if they were just going to Sukuna's place and he's begun to become concerned about their destination.

"Far into the city, the beach is the final destination." Sukuna answers, his large hand that is placed on Megumi's inner thigh gives a gentle squeeze to reassure him that he's safe with Sukuna no matter the destination. Of course, Megumi already is aware of it, he's secure with Sukuna in ways he hasn't been with anyone else.

Megumi might be only fifteen, to many that might seem like nothing at all, as if he hasn't truly lived. Megumi views it differently, would never argue over it because people are entitled to their opinion and he's the only one who will ever known his true self. He's the only one who will know the lonely, cold nights in an empty apartment as a young boy who should be in kindergarten but instead has to cry himself to sleep because his stomach feels like it's eating itself. He's the one who would have to deal with Toji's drunken or drugged up, pent up rage and yet still shuffle closer in hopes of even a teardrop of affection.

He grew up having to care for himself, he had dealt with many things before Toji started dating Tsumiki's mother and he met his sister. A half sister, a kid that Toji didn't care to know about and still doesn't, not until he wants something after Megumi has refused to give whatever Toji wants.

Tsumiki cares, has even tried to provide him comfort, but he only feels emptier. He stayed away from her, especially as he got older and they decided to roommate with the other abused members of their family.

Megumi had to grow up fast to survive, had to determine right and wrong and who is trustworthy and who is going to harm him since he could form memories. Had to learn to survive without food for awhile and which people to talk to who would find him cute in a non perverted way and give him treats to nibble on.

With Sukuna, he can... be vulnerable, in a way. Let down his guard because Sukuna will protect him, he won't let anyone inflict harm onto Megumi. The security, the promise that even if they aren't a couple, Sukuna would do anything to make sure Megumi is never disrespected in any way, shape, or form by anyone. He won't tolerate verbal assault or even someone getting too close for comfort. Sukuna's tenacious behavior is assuring, the way someone so capable of damage can be so benign to Megumi... how could he not begin to fall for him?

He can't pinpoint exactly when he began to want more from Sukuna. It sort of just... happened. He realized that while sex and hanging out as friends isn't terrible, it isn't enough either.

The sky is swirls of colors as it begins to darken, Megumi's window is rolled down and he has his arm hanging out. He enjoys the scenery and the music, soothed by Sukuna's familiar touch. The wind is a calming sort of cold, the kind that has Megumi closing his eyes and relaxing as it brushes against his tender skin.

Sukuna glances at Megumi beside him, contentment softening his crimson gaze. What Megumi wants is too much but moments like this is enough for Sukuna, this and sex with the pretty boy is all he needs. Nothing more, nothing less.

Sukuna can be greedy, he can even behave irrationally when Megumi is involved. He would beat the living daylights out of a guy if he saw him getting too handsy with Megumi for Sukuna's liking. He wants Megumi for himself, in a way, doesn't want Megumi to have sex with anyone else. Matters of the heart isn't something Sukuna considered before and doesn't wish to. Megumi can love him or not at all, as long as things stay the same.
