Chapter 8 - The Dog and the Troll

"Run," Harry says so we all turn and run up the corridor.

The torches light up as we reach them.

"Quick," Bam says. "Let's hide through that door."

We reach the door and Ryan tries it.

"It's locked!" he says, annoyed.

"That's it, we're done for," Ron says.

"Oh, move over," Hermione orders before she shoves us to one side and stands before the door.

She takes out her wand and waves it at the door.

"Alohomora!"

The door unlocks.

"Get in," she whispers before going inside. The rest of us follow and close the door behind us.

"Alohomora?" Ron asks.

"Standard book of spells chapter 7," I say. "Seriously Ron, you need to know some of this stuff."

"There was a good reason the door was locked," Harry says and we all turn to see three large dog heads.

The dogs wake up to reveal one giant dog with three heads.

We all scream before we race out the door but the dog heads try and grab us until we manage to close the door on it and we continue back the way we came until we reach our dorms where we sit down.

"What do they think they're doing?" Hollie asks. "Keeping a thing like that locked up in a school?"

"You don't use your eyes do you?" Hermione asks. "Didn't you see what it was standing on?"

"I wasn't looking at its feet," Ron says. "Was anyone else looking at its feet? I was a bit preoccupied with its heads. Or maybe you didn't notice - there were three."

"Oh Ronald," I say.

"What?"

"It was standing on a trapdoor," Hollie says.

"So?"

"That means it wasn't there by accident," I say. "It's guarding something."

"Guarding something?" Harry asks.

"That's right," Hermione says. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to bed before anything else happens."

She turns and goes into the bedroom.

"She really is a piece of work," Ron says.

"We should all get to bed," I say before I give Bam a kiss on the cheek and go into the room, followed by Hollie.

"What was that?" Hollie asks.

"Me and Bam like each other."

"Wow! You know something, I like Ben."

"Ben?"

"Ben Bruce, he sits behind us in some of the lessons, looks like a band member."

"Oh I know who you mean. He is cute!"

We reach the bedrooms, get changed and climb into bed.

~Harry's POV~

The next day is Saturday so Oliver comes and fetches me.

"Sorry I couldn't show you this yesterday, Harry but if you come with me, I'll teach you how to play Quidditch."

I follow him out of the building to the courtyard where there's a wooden chest.

On the way out, he explains about the game.

"Quidditch is easy enough to understand. Each team has seven players... 3 chasers, 2 beaters, 1 keeper, and a Seeker - that's you."
