It was almost 9pm and Peter hadn't said anything. I'd spoken to Ned, catching up a little, but not a word from Peter.
I was a little upset. I know we just met, but he was a really nice guy and he seemed interesting.
I heard a knock at the door, which meant it was my dad, since he's the only one with any sense of privacy.
"Come in!"
He walked in, holding Mariah in his arms.
"Hey, lemon drop! We're ordering pizza, you want the usual?"
"Uh-huh." I said, not looking away from my phone.
"Hey, what's the matter?"
"Nothing."
"You mumble when you lie." He pointed out. "Spit it out."
I sighed. "I met this guy at school and... I just thought he would have texted me by now!"
"Don't worry about it." He stroked my hair. "Teenage boys make no sense. Just forget about him. Maybe he's just busy."
"Thanks, dad."
He smiled. "No problemo." He patted me on the head and left.
I sighed. Time to ask the 'expert'.
