"Yeah," you replied, your voice registering a hint of confusion mixed with curiosity. "I actually thought we had different schedules."

Hinata laughed, a genuine sound that quickly warmed the atmosphere. "Oh, that's because my schedule changed!" she explained. "I'll be working more shifts with you now, so you'll be seeing a lot more of me."

You couldn't help but feel a sense of relief, knowing that you and Hinata would be able to spend more time together. She was a great coworker, and the thought of working with her brought a smile to your face.

As you started to get settled into your duties, the sweet aroma of baked goods continued to swirl around you. The sound of the front door chimed, indicating the arrival of a new customer. Turning your head, your heart skipped a beat as you caught sight of the person who had been silently captivating your thoughts—Dabi.

Dabi, the boy who had been treating you with smug smiles and gentle gestures. The boy who had ignited a fluttering feeling within your heart every time your eyes met. It was a delightful surprise to see him in the bakery, even though you see him there almost daily. Still, you couldn't get used to it.

Trying to maintain your composure, your eyes locked with Dabi's, a mixture of excitement and nervousness coursing through your veins. You couldn't help but steal a quick glance at your reflection in the glass display case, swiftly fixing a loose strand of hair that had escaped your bun. In that moment, every movement felt deliberately chosen, a subtle attempt to appear your best for him.

As Dabi made his way towards the counter, your heart rate escalated. An enchanting blend of anticipation and apprehension washed over you, unsure of what your conversation may bring. Would he ask when you're free, or simply place an order and leave? You could only speculate, though the chances of him asking for your time would be a total surprise as he usually stayed true to taking you whenever he wanted.

With every step he took, your heartbeat grew louder in your ears. Your palms felt slightly clammy as you prepared yourself to greet him. As he approached the counter, Dabi's gaze met yours once again, a soft smile adorning his face.

"Good morning, Y/N," Dabi said, his voice gentle and filled with an underlying warmth. "I took your words into deep consideration, so let's go on a date tonight. I'll pick you up at seven."

The combination of his presence and his thoughtful gesture made your cheeks flush with a delicate shade of pink. You couldn't help but return his smile, feeling a rush of happiness surge through her. It was the first time he had asked you out on a date, and this time, you wanted to impress him for sure.

"You could've told me in private," Y/N replied, trying to keep her voice steady. "But sure, I'll be waiting for you."

You and Dabi exchanged a few words, more like he was flirting with you as you blushed at how vocal he was, especially in public where your coworker could hear. The moment he exited the shop, your coworker, Hinata, squealed, clinging onto your arm as she exclaimed, "That is so romantic!"

You couldn't help but blush as you tried to steady your rapid heartbeat, cursing at Dabi for always doing this to you. He knew you too well, and at times, it scared you as he was capable of pulling any strings he wanted with you. Moreover, you'd let him.

The large, dimly lit room was filled with the sound of low murmurs and the shuffling of papers as Dabi lounged in a plush chair, lazily scrolling through his phone. His cerulean eyes flickered disinterestedly across the screen, not giving much thought to the mundane notifications that seemed to flood his device.

As he idly navigated through the endless feed of meaningless information, his ears perked up at the mention of a familiar name—Kai Chisaki. An involuntary jolt traveled through his body, causing him to drop his phone onto his lap. His attention was immediately captured, his eyes narrowing as he focused on the conversation taking place amongst the executives.

Leaning forward, his elbows resting on his knees, Dabi listened intently as Mr. Compress continued to speak. The information that followed sent a surge of excitement through his veins. Kai Chisaki, the detestable man who had crossed his path one too many times, was now being caught in the web of his own illegal activities.

Mr. Compress's voice held a hint of satisfaction as he laid out the details. Dabi couldn't help but feel a twisted sense of pleasure at the revelation. Kai Chisaki had always managed to evade justice, slipping through the cracks of society with his devious ways. But now there was evidence—undeniable proof of his involvement in illicit dealings with a laboratory, bypassing the watchful gaze of the government.

A smirk tugged at the corners of Dabi's lips as he contemplated the possibilities. This newfound revelation presented an opportunity—a chance to finally exact his revenge on the man who had caused him so much pain and suffering. It was as though fate had aligned in his favor, delivering Kai Chisaki right into his hands.

In that moment, determination kindled within him, fueled by the burning hatred he harbored towards Kai Chisaki. This would be the crucial opening he needed to advance his own sinister plan—to eradicate the man who had been a thorn in his side for far too long.

"I'm surprised by your work, Mr. Compress," Dabi praised, smirking in delight.

"What about you, Dabi? Haven't you been spying on him for a while now?" Spinner pointed out as Dabi rolled his eyes. In fact, Dabi had been spying on Kai Chisaki, but there wasn't much evidence he found on his part, as Kai Chisaki was quite wary of Dabi himself. Moreover, Mr. Compress isn't a well-known man in the underground world, making it easier for him to gain access to such information.

"I'm working on it," Dabi answered.

"Are you sure? I've seen you talking to that girl more than doing your actual job," Toga chimed in, exposing Dabi in the open without hesitation.

"Were you spying on me this whole time?" Dabi was in disbelief at his fellow executives.

"So when are you going to formally introduce her to us?" Toga asked, disregarding Dabi's question, getting excited about meeting the girl who had Dabi chasing after like a fool.

"Never."

"Well, I have been wanting more of those pastries," Mr. Compress commented, totally forgetting about the meeting and going off topic.

"I'm not your assistant." Dabi rolled his eyes.

"I guess I'll go there myself," Mr. Compress murmured, loud enough to tick Dabi off, knowing how possessive Dabi is.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll get it for you tomorrow." Dabi stood up and made his way towards the exit, earning curious stares from his fellow executives.

"The meeting isn't over yet. You have yet to explain about the negotiations with him, " Mr. Compress stated and Dabi halted in his steps as his frown turned into confident smirk.

"Oh, that went exactly as planned," Dabi said smugly, turning his head to look at Mr. Compress, a twinkle of darkness in his eyes. "So if you don't mind, I got other important things to do."
