His eyes squinted as a response to the heated sun rays outside yet he was looking at me with a strange smile on his face

"I'm glad you liked the necklace, it took me a while to pick it"

"Ofcourse, I loved the details of it"

He smiled even wider and got up to leave but turned midway

"I wish you open the gift and tell me whether you like it or not"

Shoot, he cought my lies

I went upstairs to my room and searched my wardrobe for that thing

It was rude of me to lie on his face.

I opened the wrapping with a hustle and my eyes met with a very beautiful neckpiece

It was thin chain with a rose as a pendant

It was beautiful, pretty classic but beautiful.

He was not lying about the neckpiece than how did he caught my lie?!

I tried it on absolutely loving the way it feels on my neck

There is one more peice of jewellery adoring my neck along with it

My mind went back to his cruel words. I thought he had given up on his anger. Guess not he still wants to behave like a kid so be it, I won't go buttering him up

I swiftly removed the nupital chain to look if the neckpiece looks better with it or without it

I like how it matches with my saree today.

I was about to wear the nupital chain back and remove the gift

"Samaira beta" I heard a voice behind me. It took me a lot of efforts to convince choti maa toh call me by my name instead of Bahu

"Aapse Milne koi ayaa hai" she said with a smile

"Humse?" I rushed downstairs to meet up a familiar face

"Yug sir?, Aap yaha?"

"Sorry to bother you this early Samaira, but I got your message the other day, may I ask why you are declining my offer to tutor you?"

I settled myself in in front of him

"Sir, I heard you are on a leave right now so I didn't wanted to trouble you with my studies."

"Nonsense Samaira, you are one of my excellent students and I love teaching, I can never feel it as a burden on me."

I felt the earlier pendent around my neck fall loose and land on my lap

I took it in my hands and looked back at him

"It's really so sweet of you sir, but really, I don't want to trouble you, also it's just one week left of my internship after that I'll be back on campus"

He looked around my neck area and a slight smile appeared on his face and he looked back again in my eyes

"Okay, but just know if you find any difficulty in any of the chapters you can text me or better yet call me, I would be happy to help"

"Of course, sir"

With that he left

"Suno, yeh chai ke cup utha do" I told one of the helpers

My focus went back in the chain in my hand

I tried to tie it around my neck one more time but failing at each attempt

I felt two fingers brush my hand as I was trying to hook it up

"May I?" I heard his voice

I turned to look at Dev. He awfully close to me right now, I was about to step a little ahead but he held the chain in his fingers

"It's my gift, it's only fair if I help you with it"

Before I could say no I felt something rather someone snatched the chain from his hand and pushed him

He fell with a big thud to which I turned around and saw Rudra??? Isn't he supposed to be in the office?? Preparing for his, oh so important celebration?!!!

Dev was on the ground groaning and I stepped a little ahead to help him

"Move a limb towards him, little dove, I dare you!" Scary. Absolutely scary he sounds right now

I couldn't move a muscle but my eyes focused on his every action

He told the chain in his hand and crushed it!!!!

But It was beautiful!!!!!

I gasped at the fury in his eyes which snapped back at me as I uttered a small no from my mouth

"Next time, it'll be you little brother"

He caught my wrist in his rough ones and dragged me upstairs

Locking the door he took slow steps towards me

Like a predator.

Ready to lash on his prey
