I flop down tiredly on my bet, letting out a long tired groan. Miles falls to the floor, laying face down as I see his muscles visibly relax. It wasn't a lot of work, but it was certainly a lot for 6 in the morning. I take a glance at a 'partially-dead' Miles, as I begin to search through my cabinets, in search of my pretty pink bedazzled afro pick.
"Bambi c'mere," I whisper as I gesture for Miles to sit next to me, scooting so my back is against the wall. "Wanna play with your hair."
Miles gives me a reluctant look, before sighing and dragging himself onto my bed, laying next to me as he scrolls on his phone. I smile as I begin lightly pulling on some of his loose curls, gently picking at the roots of his hair with about as much force as a baby bunny. His hair was soft and felt perfectly moisturized underneath the pads of my fingers. I gently run my fingers through the soft, thick coils before looking at the time on his phone. It was 7:30. I began to hear voices pour in outside of the hall, hushed whispers becoming full-fledged conversations and heavy footsteps.
"C'mon, we gotta start getting ready to go to homeroom. Whos your advisor?" He huffs as he stretches, shaking off the slumber from his eyes.
"I got Mrs. G...Who you got?" I ask as I raise myself off the wall.
"I have Mr. Alex," he frowned, "Lemme see your schedule real quick." He asks as I hand him the piece of paper, watching him scrutinize it thoroughly.
"Okay, we got...3rd, 4th, and 7th period together." he smiled as he pointed to the paper briefly. "You ready?"
"Yeah, let's go."
I step out of my room first, waiting about three minutes before watching Miles emerge from the same path. I walk through the hall with him, asking questions about the school before ending up in my advisor's designated room. I dap him up and pull him into a small hug before waving a small bye, watching him speed-walk to his advisory. I take a seat at a random desk, woman-spreading slightly as I wait for advisory to commence. The room was pretty chill, decorated from head to toe with various posters. Music artists, school-related, helpful tips, and signs indicating where things we may need for daily use resided. The lights were off, and there were stormy blue LED lights hung around the edges of the walls.
As the advisory commences, Mrs. G gives us the standard run-down of school for the newcomers, and then we move on to those goddamn mothafuckin lame-ass icebreakers. It starts in a snake pattern around the class, meaning I would be fourth to introduce myself. I commit the names Angelica, Luisa, and Pierston to memory before the small group of 9 turns their eyes toward me, a few of them widening slightly.
"Hi, I'm Y/N L/N. And, I like the color pink." I wave with a small sigh.
"Yoo, I knew you looked familiar. Ain't you that actor?" Pierston asks, as the rest of the students get slightly closer to me and bombard me with a sea of questions. I didn't mind, really. I was just tired. I answer most of the questions I wanted to answer to the best of my capability, making a few 'friends' in the process. I'd know if they were friends or not when the time came, until then I knew a couple of faces at B.V.A. I always made a mental note to be cautious of who I considered to be my friends, as there were many evil people in the world willing to use me for status, or any opportunity they could get from me. Their excuse almost always being "I only befriend muhhfuckas who got goals in life and wanna get to the bag." You ain't slick, stop attempting to bite off of and use your 'friends'.
The next two classes all flash before my eyes, with us doing nothing but saying our name and 'a fun fact about ourselves!' I make my way to my 3rd period, searching around the room for Miles as I ignore the stares and rampant conversations about the actor attending Visions. I lock eyes with Miles as I smile widely, jogging over to him and taking a seat to his left. "Hey, Bambi!" I exclaim as I hang my bookbag on the side of my chair.
"Damn, we only been apart for two hours and you actin' like I've been missing for years." He jokes with a hearty laugh.
"Boy shut up, people are up my ass about my career and I haven't had a genuine conversation with anyone in hours. I missed your comfort, okay? Damn." I giggle as I slightly push his shoulder. I continue talking to Miles as I turn my attention to the girl who had her eyes locked on me, approaching me at a quickened pace.
"Hey, Mozzy! Who is this?" She smiles as she nods her head towards me. She was absolutely gorgeous. She had black and electric blue box braids, styled perfectly in two identical messy buns. She had the smoothest base I had ever seen and flawless lined lips. I grinned ear to ear as I ignored the slight discomfort I felt at how she had stared at me but completely ignored me.
"Hey, girl! I'm Y/N. Might I just say, you are so pretty." I offer a warm smile.
"Oh, I heard about you! You're that...actor that everyone's been talkin' about right." She asks in a slightly...condescending tone?
"Yeah, I am. I didn't want to bring all that energy to school though." I confess with a small laugh. Miles appears to be visibly annoyed, and even slightly pissed off.
"Well, me and Mozzy here were just gonna sit together this period-" she begins before being cut off abruptly.
"No, we weren't. But if you would like to sit near US you can." He articulated with a very obvious grimace. "And please, you never in your life have called me Mozzy, please don't start now. My name is Miles, thank you."
My jaw opens slightly before I snap it back shut, returning my attention to the pretty girl.
"Sorry, whatever's...happening I'm not involved, but what's your name lovebug?" I ask
"I'm Tasha." she answered in a rather rude and cold tone, before sitting in front of Miles. It suddenly became very clear to me that whatever was going on right now, she had a thing for Miles. I assumed right off the bat that she viewed me as some sort of threat to her and Miles's nonexistent relationship, and cocked my head to the side in confusion. I understand that haters come in all forms, but she was way too pretty to be hating like this.
"Bambi, what's her issue?" I ask as I point to the girl with the tip of my mechanical pencil.
"Ion know, but she's not gonna be blatantly disrespectful to you like that in front of me." He grunted as he leaned in closer towards me, folding his arms over his chest and rolling his eyes.
What a sassy ass man.
I spend the rest of third period talking to Miles, listening as Tasha grumbles 'bitch...' every time the word 'Bambi' left my mouth. Truthfully, I didn't give a fuck. If she had a problem with me over a boy who just made it clear he does not like her, that's on her stupid ass. The rest of the day went by in another blink of an eye, with me and Miles deciding to eat lunch off-campus. We made our way down to a small cafe called 'Lakou' and ordered some premium sandwiches. We giggled like children as we walked around, mocking Tasha's attempts to be big and bad as we ate. If every day at Visions was like this, then I had this school shit in the bag.
