[71] THE BREAK - AUG 12 2023

So this is what Jimin must have felt whenever he tried to talk to me and I left saying that I'm busy

4 more days later though, Jungkook has enough. Jimin even left to stay at Jimin's friend's place for the weekend but didn't return home after that

Jungkook goes to Jimin's workplace. That's the only place he could meet Jimin. He didn't know the address of Jimin's friend.

Jimin is surprised to see the man outside his office and tries to act like he didn't see him

"Jimin...." Jungkook's voice behind him makes him stop "....please come home. Please at least let's talk..."

Jimin agrees not wanting a scene there

The car ride home was quiet

"Jimin please... please sit..." Jungkook says as soon as Jimin just walks to the bedroom

Jimin sighs before he sits down next to the man

"Jimin...are you okay?"

Jimin hums

Jungkook looks at the boy for a while before letting out a deep breath

".... I... I don't know how to start..I feel like I did something to make you upset... did I hurt you...."

Jimin could see the man struggling with his words

Jimin sighs "...why are you even talking to me if everything relating to me is suffocating you?"

Jungkook is confused "Huh?"

"You hate this marriage right? Didn't you feel like I'm suffocating you in this relationship?" Jimin asks and frowns when he sees Jungkook looking so lost "...isn't this what you told Taehyung?"

Jungkook's eyes widened in shock. His head shakes frantically

"No! No... that's not true... I... I love you... I can't imagine life without you..." Jungkook explains to the shocked boy about his inner feelings and fear

"So you don't want a divorce?" Jimin asks

"No! Never!" Jungkook's eyes already filled with tears

Jimin sighs, looking at his hands. Jungkook's eyes were sincere. He was glad but he has been hurt to this point where he needed time for himself to heal

"We should take a break"

Jungkook's heart nearly stopped

"We have been married nearly 8 months and we haven't done anything as a married couple. I have felt so lost in this relationship, I didn't even know if I could call you my husband..." Jungkook's eyes glisten more "...I think a break away from each other would be good... to understand each other's feelings...a time to heal..."

Jimin sighs when he feels like Jungkook would have a panic attack

"I'm not leaving you... it's just a time away to fully confirm our feelings..."

Jimin goes back to stay with his friend. Jungkook visits him that day itself in the evening.

Jimin sighs seeing the man outside the apartment

"Please Jungkook... please give me this time alone... it's not like my absence will make much difference to you..."

A tear fell from Jungkook's eyes

"...I need a break..." Jimin speaks before Jungkook could say anything. Jungkook stays silent. He could see how heart broken the boy was, and it was all because of him. His own heart breaks realizing that

Soon a week passes by without contact and Jungkook goes crazy, he needs to see his Jimin and bring his love home to his rightful place. He had given Jimin enough space. He now knows the boy's value in his life and doesn't want this break anymore. He doesn't want to give Jimin more time - what if the boy decides to take the break permanently. No, he would never let that happen

Jimin's friend lets Jungkook in and the couple head to the roof to talk

They talked that night, like they never talked before. They didn't start with the break but talked about their work, life and past

Jungkook looks at the boy beside him who kept looking at the sky

"I miss you ..." Jimin looks at the man "...a week has passed.... I didn't disturb you like you asked me... I gave you time... isn't that enough of a break? Didn't you miss me?"

Jimin hums "I missed you too"

Jungkook is happy "Really? You missed me? .... The break is over, right?"

Jimin hums a slight smile on his face seeing Jungkook's excitement. The man looked like he has been crazing Jimin the whole week

"Can I come back?" Jimin asks and a sob nearly escaped the man's lips

"Of course... the house is empty without you..." Jungkook says, his hands reaching out to hold Jimin's hands in his own "...I promise you I will do everything to not make you feel insecure in our relationship... I love you... I'm sorry that I realized it late..."

Jimin genuinely smiles "It's alright .. I am giving you my heart again because I trust you..."

Jungkook let's out a wet chuckle "Thank you for trusting me with your heart.... and this time I will never let you go..." Jungkook wipes away a tear that rolled off Jimin's eyes "...I love you..."

Jimin pulls the man closer to him "I love you too"

Jungkook smiles as he pulls Jimin into a hug

"You are mine now... never going to let you go..."

Jimin smiles against Jungkook's chest listening to the loud heartbeats
