"Billie, where do you want to go?" my mother asks her.

Billie smiles and points at the goddamn Ferris Wheel another time. "Don't worry about me, Simone. I will be very happy over there," she tells my mother.

"Blake, dear, do you mind joining Billie? I don't feel well leaving her alone," she suggests and I swear I just saw her wink. I wrinkle my forehead and nod, a little confused.

"Great! Now let's go, Mama!" Flynn yells and takes my mother's wrist, dragging her with her towards the roller coaster.

Billie holds onto a part of fabric of my hoodie and drags me towards the Ferris Wheel. I'm gonna shoot myself. Seriously. I'm not even sure anymore, if this is worth it. Especially when Billie is probably going to shove her tongue down Chris' throat tomorrow.

Yeah no. This is worth it.

"Why exactly do you like those again?" I ask her, watching how the Ferris Wheel gets closer and closer.

"I like the view from the very top. You know, watching down at everything and everyone? Pushes up my ego," Billie responds grinning. A little chuckle escapes my mouth.

I've always liked how confident Billie is with everything she says and does. Even when we were younger she didn't let anyone manipulate her with some bullshit and said no whenever she wanted to. Piss off, Austin Moonlie.

Billie stops in front of the Wheel and smiles at the man selling the tickets. "Two tickets, please," she tells him smiling.

He smiles back. Not in a normal way though. More like a I'd like to fuck you right now smile and it's pissing me off. I want to punch him. In his face and his stomach and his throat and-

"Two tickets. One for the very pretty girl and one for her?" the guy is holding my ticket, not locking at me though. He's waiting for Billie to finish his sentence with some label for me. I narrow my eyes at him.

Billie opens her mouth, ready to answer but I snatch the ticket out of the guy's hand and answer before Billie can. "Boyfriend. Now fuck off." I take Billie's hand and drag her into one of the seats of the Ferris Wheel. Someone else checks our tickets and Billie frowns.

"Boyfriend? I don't remember us getting exclusive, Blakey Boy. I thought this was a secret,"she jokes and I roll my eyes. Billie hits the back of my head. "Never again tell a hot guy you're my boyfriend or I'll rip that head right if you're shoulders."

I want to smack back at her but the fucking machine makes a terrifying sound and my grip tightens on the barrier in front of us that is supposed to keep us safe. This was a fucking bad idea. I'm gonna piss myself.

Billie looks me up and down. She frowns first but then bursts out into laughter. "Are you afraid of heights?" she asks, still laughing.

I grumble but stop immediately after looking down for a second. "You're afraid of dark rooms. Do not laugh at me, Billie Adams!" I don't know what is worse. Actually dying up here or Billie now knowing I am afraid of heights.

I'm not going to die. There's a barrier in front of me that will keep us safe.

Our seat shakes back and forth a little and I swear I almost screamed like a little girl. My god my hands turn white because of how hard I am gripping this barrier.

"Blake? You okay?" Billie asks next to me. I've closed my eyes by now. I don't want to see her, neither do I want to accidentally look down again.

I feel a very small hand take my hand and slowly loose my fingers from the barrier. She takes my hand in hers and hits the back of it with her other hand. "Let's play a game. I tell you a secret and you tell me one," she suggests and I just nod, my eyes still closed. I do like the feeling of her hand in mine though.

"When I was six years old I was the one who drew on the wall of my parent's bedroom," she says. "I also blamed it on my cousin. Your turn."

"When I was ten, I told Flynn eating toothpaste would make her teeth go whiter," I stutter, hearing Billie chuckle in response. "Your turn."

"I am nervous about the date with Chris," she says and I slowly start to open my eyes.

"Since when is Billie Adams afraid of boys?" I whisper, not sure if I should have opened my eyes already. I am so not ready for this.

"Since when is Blake Evans afraid of Heights?" she whispers back, a very cute smile decorating her lips. It's one of those smiles when she turns her lips downwards and it still is a smile. I love this kind of smile on her. It almost makes me forget I am on a fucking Ferris Wheel, not so close to my beloved ground.

"Fourth grade. We were doing a class trip to an enjoyment park and I threw up on a roller coaster. What is up with you and this Chris thing? You've never been nervous about such things. You're never holding back talking to me," I say.

I know there's a difference between me and every other guy. Billie and I have known us for an eternity now and we have this weird history with first kisses.

"I don't know. Whenever I am around him it seems like I loose all my confidence and I love my confidence. I Love throwing dirty and mean jokes around and it's not working with him. I am scared I'll be weird tomorrow."

I let go off the barrier completely and take her hands into mine now. Wow, this is cheesy.

"Billie, there's not a single thing you could say that makes someone not think you're unbelievably smart, funny and interesting. You can be weird if you want. Weird is good. Weird is great when it is your weird. Be yourself and absolutely no one can resist," I tell her and just look at her.

She stares back. Her eyes wide and her lips turning into a small smile. Her head turns a bit rosy. But I switch looking back into her eyes.

Honey brown eyes. The most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
