Vaggie took Charlie to a nice, quaint, cafe for lunch and as they ate, Vaggie told her everything about herself and Angel. How they had gotten together and how they worked at the diner and about the good all days. Charlie enjoyed talking to Vaggie, and she didn't know why but she had the strangest feeling that she had not had a friend to talk to or spend time with in years. That was because she had not. When she married Seviathan, she didn't have any friends and any female socialites she talked too, were totally fake and would talk about her behind her back. But Seviathan wouldn't let her interact with anyone outside their financial rank.

After lunch, Vaggie took Charlie shopping. They mostly went to very cheap shops because both of them didn't make enough to buy anything really fancy like designer clothes but they did go into a special boutique. It was one where all the clothes were hand-made and embroidered. Each piece of clothing was absolutely exquisite with it's own unique detailing.  Vaggie's mother would sew and mend clothes for this shop in order to make some extra money and Vaggie and Angel started getting into it too.

"You actually made this." Charlie marveled at a display of a dress made of beige linen decorated with handmade embroidery.

"Yep. When Angel and I aren't taking orders, cooking greasy food, wiping down tables, or cleaning public toilets, we're coming up with new clothes to sell to this place. Here, check out this wool and beaded pancho he made."

"It's so pretty." Charlie felt it. "And comfortable. You guys really are good at this. Ever thought of opening your own business?"

"Are you kidding? That's what we want more than anything." Vaggie said. "The owner of the shop has to retire soon and she wants to leave the shop to me and Angel but we can't afford to keep it."

"So what'll happen to it?"

"It'll be sold to Wally Wackford and he'll turn it into a vape shop. Yeah, like we don't have enough of those."

"What a shame."

Charlie then noticed a designer dress that was incredibly elegant and stylish. The color was apple blossom and the material was chiffon with embroidery that was rose-gold and satin ribbon to tie around the waist. The dress style was a-line but the skirt cut off at her knees and the neckline was sweetheart. She took the dress off the hanger and approached a mirror, holding the garment up to her body.

"That dress would look good on you." Vaggie complimented.

"You think so?"

"Uh-huh."

"Did you make it?"

"No. Mrs. Dubois, the owner of the shop made it."

"Do you think Alastor would like it on me?"

"Uh...Maybe. Why do you ask?"

Truthfully, Charlie was finding herself wanting to impress her "husband" and at times desiring him. After all, he was a handsome man, one with strong arms best used for holding someone and eyes that could make any woman feel like she was the most beautiful female in the world. Of course she wasn't ready to get intimate with him yet, but she did want him to find her attractive.

"Just wondering." Charlie looked at the price tag. "Three-hundred dollars? No way I can afford that."

She hung the dress back up.

"So how are things going with you and Alastor?" Vaggie asked. "Is he treating you right?"

"Well things are still a little rocky between us, we act morel like roommates than a couple but that's to be expected, considering I don't remember being in love with him."
