Aziraphale had been double crossed but had also been saved by Crowley. He had walked into a church, walked on consecrated ground all to save his angel and he didn't regret a single minute.

However the burns on the soles of his feet would beg to differ, they were excruciating. But of course Crowley would never say anything to the Angel about them, he was too proud.

Crowley and Aziraphale walked into the bookshop. Crowley had found the nearest comfy seat and sat down whilst Aziraphale had gone through the back for some reason. Minutes later the Angel came back with a large bowl of water and the softest towel he could find.

"What are you up to Angel?" Asked Crowley

"Let me see your feet dear"

"What? why?"

"Crowley, you walked on consecrated ground, I have a hard time believing your feet are not burned" said the angel who had placed the bowl on the nearby table and had crossed his arms looking at the demon.

Crowley sighed and began to remove his shoes and his socks. The angel placed the large bowl under the demons feet. As the demon placed his feet in the water he could feel them sting a little at the cold water.

"I'm sorry dear is it too cold?"

"No its just they're..."

"Painful?"

The demon smiled a sad smile at the Angels words.

"I'm sorry Crowley, its my fault" said the angel who sat on the floor and began to wash the demons feet.

"No its not, I was the fool who walked on consecrated ground, not that I wouldn't do it again"

"Why?"

"You, I heard what the half witted spies were planning and I had to stop them from hurting you"

The Angel sat there stunned and the demons words.

"I know you don't want to hear it but what you did, it was very kind of you, thank you"

The demon sighed and said "Anytime"

"Your feet will need some time to heal, they are quite badly burned"

"I know, I can feel that"

"I could heal them but that would be even more painful"

"I would rather not be in any more pain tonight if you don't mind angel"

"Its no worries I understand, you could stay here tonight, to save you walking home"

"You sure?"

"I am"

The angel finished up and helped Crowley up, he draped the demons arm over his shoulder and helped him up and up into his apartment. Aziraphale placed Crowley on the sofa and turned on the lights.

"Sorry about that Crowley"

"Don't worry about it"

"Would you like to sleep on the couch or in the spare room?" asked the angel

"I don't think my feet could take another walk about, I'll sleep here"

"Alright, I'll be right back"

Aziraphale left the room and walked down the hallway, he walked into his room and opened his linen cupboard and took out two blankets and a pillow. He walked back into the living room to see Crowley had discarded his glasses, jacket and tie. Aziraphale walked over to the demon and placed the pillow and blankets in the seat next to the demon.

"Thanks Angel"

"Get some sleep Crowley"

"Night"

"Good night dear boy" said the angel who walked into his room and went to bed.

Crowley took the pillow and placed it on the end of the sofa and lay down, he then draped both blankets over himself, but there was a slight problem, Crowley was taller than the couch was long. His feet stuck out over the top of the couch, not that he minded his feet needed the air to heal quicker, it just made him uncomfortable.

Sleeping on the Angels couch was one of the most peaceful sleeps Crowley had had in a long time, the next morning his feet had healed and he had left the apartment and headed home, after a nice breakfast prepared by Aziraphale that is.
