The next morning, as the sun began to rise, Kenji woke up with a sense of determination. He wanted to do something special for the group, so he decided to head out and get some coffee for everyone. Quietly, he slipped out of the hotel room, leaving Moka still sleeping peacefully.
As he made his way to a nearby café, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being followed. He turned around but saw no one. Shrugging it off as his imagination, he continued on his way.
However, as he was about to reach the café, he felt a sudden rush of movement behind him. Before he could react, he was thrown to the ground, and a familiar voice rang out, "Not bad, human, but you still need to work on your instincts."
Kenji looked up to see Kokoa standing over him, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "What the hell is the meaning of this?" Kenji demanded, trying to get back on his feet.
Kokoa smirked, crossing her arms. "Consider this a little test, human. I want to see if you're really worthy of my sister."
Kenji narrowed his eyes, feeling a mix of annoyance and determination. "I don't need to prove anything to you. Moka and I care about each other, and that's what matters."
Kokoa laughed, circling him like a predator toying with its prey. "Oh, I know you care about her, but I want to see if you're strong enough to protect her. Moka means a lot to me, and I won't let just anyone be with her."
Kenji clenched his fists, refusing to back down. "I'll protect Moka with everything I have. I won't let anything happen to her."
To Kokoa's surprise, Kenji's blue aura appeared around him once more, albeit seemingly weaker than during the night. He vanished from his spot, using his supernatural speed to appear behind Kokoa, attempting a round kick. But Kokoa was no slouch either, and she swiftly blocked his attack, countering with a kick of her own.
However, to her astonishment, Kenji once again vanished from her sight, dodging her attack effortlessly. His newfound power was perplexing and impressive, and Kokoa's competitive spirit was ignited.
"You're not bad, human," Kokoa said with a smirk, readying herself for Kenji's next move. "But you'll have to do better than that to impress me."
Before the two could continue their impromptu spar, Moka's voice rang out, interrupting the tension between them. "Stop it, both of you!"
Kenji and Kokoa turned to see Moka standing there, her expression a mix of concern and frustration. Kenji quickly deactivated his blue aura, realizing that their display of power might have startled her.
"Moka, I..." Kenji began, but she held up her hand to stop him.
"I don't want you two fighting," Moka said firmly. "Kokoa, what are you even doing here? You can't just attack my friends."
Kokoa pouted but eventually relented. "Fine, I just wanted to see what he was made of. But I guess he's not as weak as I thought."
Moka sighed, crossing her arms. "Kenji is strong, and he cares about me. You don't need to test him like this."
Kenji stepped forward, feeling guilty about the situation. "I'm sorry, Moka. I didn't mean for this to happen. It's just that Kokoa..."
Moka placed a hand on his shoulder, giving him a reassuring smile. "I know. But let's not let this ruin our day. We're all friends here, right?"
Kenji nodded, feeling relieved by Moka's understanding. "You're right. We should focus on enjoying our time together."
Kokoa rolled her eyes, but a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "Fine, I guess I'll behave for now. But don't think I won't keep an eye on you, human."
Moka turned to her sister, her eyes softening with affection. "Kokoa, I love Kenji, and he is the love of my life. I trust him, and I know he would never do anything to hurt me. You don't need to test him like this. Just give him a chance."
Kokoa glanced at Kenji, then back at her sister. "I guess you're right. He's not like the other humans I've encountered. But still, I can't help but be protective of you."
Moka smiled. "I know, and I appreciate that. But you don't need to be worried. Kenji is strong and caring, and he makes me happy."
Kokoa's playful demeanor returned, and she smirked. "Well, I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with his moves during our little spar. Not bad for a human."
Kenji grinned, feeling a sense of relief that Kokoa was starting to warm up to him. "Thanks, Kokoa. You're pretty skilled yourself."
Kokoa chuckled. "Don't get too cocky now. I might have gone easy on you."
With a playful wink, she suddenly ran off, disappearing with her vampire speed.
Kenji and Moka chuckled, watching Kokoa's antics. "She's quite the character, isn't she?" Kenji said.
Moka nodded. "That's why I love her. She may act tough, but she cares deeply about the people she loves."
The two of them held hands, feeling a renewed sense of closeness after the little adventure with Kokoa. They decided to spend the rest of the day enjoying each other's company, exploring the town, and creating more memories with their friends.
As the day turned into evening, the group gathered once again for dinner, laughing and sharing stories. Kenji was grateful for the bond he had formed with Moka and her friends, including Kokoa, despite her mischievous nature.
After dinner, as they walked back to the hotel, Moka leaned into Kenji, feeling a sense of contentment. "Thank you for being patient with Kokoa and for understanding how important she is to me."
Kenji kissed the top of her head. "I'll always support you and your relationship with your sister. She may be a handful, but she's family, and I know how much she means to you."
Moka smiled up at him, her eyes filled with love. "And you mean the world to me, Kenji. I'm glad you're a part of my life."
They returned to their hotel room, tired but happy from the day's adventures. As they got ready for bed, Kenji couldn't help but reflect on how much his life had changed since he met Moka and her friends. He felt incredibly fortunate to be a part of their world, filled with supernatural wonders and the love of a vampire.
As they snuggled close, Kenji whispered, "You know, your sister may be a handful, but she's also pretty amazing."
Moka giggled. "She is, isn't she? But so are you, Kenji. I love you."
"I love you too, Moka," Kenji replied, feeling a sense of peace and happiness as they drifted off to sleep, knowing that their love would continue to grow, strengthened by the bonds of friendship and family they had formed along the way.
