Yokai Watch x Reader

"Ah- Hey! Who gave you the yokai watch? I'm allowing you to see the yokai all around you! Oh and PS, it's impossible to ever take it off." Me and Nate stare at our watches. Whisper laughs maniacally, a creepy smile plastered on his face.

"Whatever happens from here on out, I can promise you one thing. Your life is never going to be the same."

Me and Nate gulp, looking back at the watch. "Yokai watch? What have we gotten ourselves into...?"

<The Spooky Intersection>

You, Nate, and whisper stood at the intersection, watching as cars pass by. "Hey, did you guys hear? Strange things are goin' on at this intersection." He says. "What kind of strange things?" You and whisper ask in unison. Nate nods. "Near misses, way more than usual."

"Near misses?" Whisper questions.

"Cars almost hitting people," Whisper interjects. "Hitting peopel?!" Nate continues. "But stopping just in time!"

"Just in time?!" Whisper asks, yet again. "Thats why it's called a near miss." You say.

"Well, shouldn't it be called a near hit?" He crosses his arms. He slowly turns to us. "This has got to be the work of a yokai." Me and Nate gasp. "A truly nefarious one must be inspiriting this intersection!" He exclaims. "Inspiriting? Like, possessing?" You ask, tilting your head slightly. "Indeed. It happens a he time." Whisper states.

"Inspiritings happen when a yokai refuses to leave its place of demise, because they cannot except the fact that they are no longer alive." He says, scrolling through his yokai pad. "I think we'd better just download the audio book." You shrug. "What?" Whisper says, flabbergasted. Nate steals his tablet, turning it to look at him. I follow up behind him.

"What? The yokai wiki?" He reads off of it. "Isn't that cheating?" You deadpan. Whisper yanks it out of Nate's grasp. "Urgh- it's just for referance!" He says. "Sure it is." Nate's face deadpans too.

"Moving on. Now, Nate, Y/n, please, go ahead and illuminate the yokai hiding in the darkness with the yokai watch!" He hovers closer to us each word he says, us stepping back as he does so.

We both activate the watch, waving the blue light around the intersection. "Whisp, I'm not seeing anything." You state, glancing at him.

"Just keep searching! You can't see the yokai unless they're hit directly by the light!" As if on que, once again, a dark, ferocious looking shadow starts to appear, as you and Nate shine the light on it. "There it is! That must be the vile monster!" Whisper shouts, pointing at it. You and Nate freeze in fear. It growls, showing its sharp teeth. You, Nate, and Whisper back up.

"Meow!" It does a flip. "Jibanyan!"

Jibanyan

You gasp, staring at the cute little yokai. Nate and whisper look at it, disappointed. The little cat yokai yawns, stretching and scratching his butt. It then plops on the floor, licking it's fur. "Thats the vile monster?" Nate raises an eyebrow. "It is adorable!" You say in awe.

"It says here that his names Jibanyan." Whisper read off the yokai wiki. A business man who looks like he's in his thirties walks up to the intersection next to Jibanyan. Jibanyan looks at at him, before pouncing on him and disappearing into him. Your jaw drops. "What the heck?!" Nate and whisper glance at you.

The man wobbles for a second before meowing. "Whats happening?" Nate asks. "He Inspirited!" Whisper replies.

The business man walks into the road as a car starts coming his way, meowing along the way. You would've been, had this poor man's life not been on the line. "Look out!" You and Nate say in unison, as whisper watches in terror. As the man reaches the middle of the intersection, Jibanyan leaps out infront of the car, attempting to punch it. "Take this stupid truck! Paws of fury!" He shouts, shooting multiple punches at the truck. The truck doesn't stop, no shocker there, and Jibanyan gets sent flying your way. The car comes to a stop right in front of the business man Jibanyan had just possessed. The man inside groans. "You moron!" He shouts. "My legs moved on their own!" The business shouts back, pointing to his legs.
