Hyunjin blinks slowly and drinks in Chan's words with silence "I've known Felix for a good amount of time and for the entirety of it he's never had anyone to hold him so I'm glad that he finally has you now, Hyunjin. all you have to do now is believe that he'll be fine and give him the hope and strength he needs" It's not clear where Chan grabbed the courage to say and do what he's doing but he has as he raises his hand and softly places it on Hyunjin's shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze and a pat afterward.

Hyunjin doesn't realize when Chan had already left the room to move on to his job as he stands in the middle and remains motionless, he's thinking about what the doctor had just told him and he's pondering over each and every word like it was a climatic event and he needed to be severely cautious. somewhere in the haze, his eyes fall back on Felix and he can feel his heart sink, a month, three at best. how was he to cope with that information knowing very well the thread above Felix's head was getting shorter and shorter as each second clicked away.

there's hesitancy filling his lungs when he lets out a breath he fathoms he's been holding all along and lets it become one with the oxygen in the room. even if he doesn't know it yet, there's a realization growing in the pit of his chest and he can finally swarm in peace at it now "The universe brought us together for a reason, it bonded our fates into one, and made us play along, and we did. but if it dares part us then I won't remain as its marionette" he exhaled deeply once again and takes a step closer to the sleeping boy, knowing that Felix is asleep and not listening to anything he's saying and knowing that he shouldn't be this close to him either

"I won't dance within its strings, run within its mazes,"

he leans down and matches Felix's height, watching his face with intent and admiration. his hand is in one of his pants pockets and the other is already inching toward Felix's face and tucking away the loose strands that have fallen astray, his heart glimmers upon the delight of intimacy and reckons just how much he had missed Felix's skin against his' letting his hand rest against Felix's cheek despite the rules Chan had very visibly set

"I'll steal time and shatter all the clocks, pause it, and still it. If you're taken away from me, I'll fight the Gods, I'll tear apart their heavens"

he whispers like he wouldn't dare let anyone else listen to what he was uttering and it was only for his darling. with each strike of his thumb across Felix's cheek Hyunjin finds all of his worries slipping into cracks of an unfound abyss and all he's left with is utter and complete bliss

"If you go, Felix. then I go with you"

Everything has been a blur these past three days. Felix and Hyunjin can't really recall what had been happening lately, Felix is far too engrossed in the drugs that are being injected into him and the blood he's consistently losing while Hyunjin on the other hand is making sure all of the payments are being taken care of, Felix is okay, he knows Hyunjin is there and that work is paid attention to as well. it's a circus running through all of these things, juggling and making sure none of the balls fall and in the process of it he's forgotten his promise to Felix;

"you'll take utmost care of yourself"
"for your sake, I will"

Yeah, not too sure he's doing that anymore considering he hasn't eaten anything let alone a proper meal, has barely slept, or even taken time to relax for a second. rushing from one place to the other, doing his now big-boy job to taking care of the rest and Felix. life is undoubtedly a hell of a time for Hyunjin yet what is bewildering is the fact that he cared none whatsoever, he enjoyed this circus better than what he had earlier, at least he had a purpose to do this, at least he knew this will be worth it because Felix was his everything and he didn't care about anything else.
