Barry quickly drove to the beach. He quickly parked up and jumped out. He had to find the girl from yesterday. Something was telling him that she was in trouble and needed his help. He scoured the beach, looking for her. He just hoped that she was here. He couldn't explain it, but he felt like he needed to help her. He didn't know anything about her, and he should rightly walk away, but she looked so lost, so vulnerable yesterday he just knew that he had to help her. He looked at his arm and noticed it was a little burnt. He wasn't sure that if what he saw yesterday was correct or not? Had she really commanded fire from her hand?
Caitlin opened her eyes and looked around. Damn she was still here. She ran out of the cave and walked around the beach. She looked around, how was she going to get home? She really missed her parents and her life back in Marinold. Would she ever go home again?
' Don't think like that Caitlin. We'll get home somehow"
' I love your optimism but how? Will anyone I know still be there? Are my parents still alive?"
' Well you always wanted to get out and explore. Have your own adventure. Well this is yours. You got your wish"
' If this is your way to cheer me up, you're doing a pathetic job", Caitlin sniffed
' Caitlin look", she said causing Caitlin to lift her head up, " it's that guy from yesterday"
Caitlin stopped suddenly and gasped. Why was he here, and why was he coming towards her?
' Just say the word and I'll teach him a lesson"
' Not yet, let's see what he wants"
Barry reached Caitlin
' What do you want?"
Barry quickly reached out and hugged her
' It's you. You're alright"
Caitlin quickly pushed him away
' What do you think you're doing? Why did you just touch me? I don't know you. Who are you and what do you want?"
' I just wanted to see if you are alright"
' Why? What is it to you? You don't even know me"
' This is not a safe place to be alone"
' I can take care of myself"
Barry watched as Caitlin walked away. Strange girl he thought but he followed her from a distance just to be sure she was safe
Caitlin wandered past a group of men. They all wolf-whistled at her
' Unless you want me to hurt you, I'd suggest that you leave me alone"
One of the men advanced towards her
' Stay back. I'm warning you, or I won't be responsible for my actions"
Barry quickly pulled up in his jeep
' Sweetheart there you are. Don't ever leave me again. Just because we had an argument doesn't mean you should storm off. You know that this is not a safe area. What if I hadn't been able to find you?"
Caitlin looked at Barry as he gestured with his head to get in the jeep. Caitlin quickly got in and they drove off
' Why are you trusting him? You know that I can protect you, so why do we need him?"
' Quiet. We will talk later"
Barry drove Caitlin to his place
' Well now that you're here, you might as well come in"
Caitlin wandered in slowly, and looked around the place. This place was nice but nothing like her home back in Marinold. She took a seat and looked at Barry
' Who are you? Why do you care what happens to me? I don't even know you. Why are you doing this?
' I don't know. Call me crazy but every time I see you, I just get this urge to protect you"
' I don't need your help. I know someone who can help me when I need it"
' Something just tells me that you're not from around here and I don't know why, but I want to help you. Please let me try"
' Why? No offence but we don't know each other. We're not friends so I repeat why?"
' I don't know. Maybe I just don't like to see someone in trouble"
' You can't help me. I don't even know if I can help myself"
' Well try me. Sometimes it helps to share a problem and unburden yourself"
' Nice try. You can't help me even if you wanted to"
Caitlin wandered around the house, looking at everything and taking everything in. It was nice but it was small compared to her house. Her room was bigger then the whole place combined. She didn't care about that as the size had never mattered to her. But then again if you were who she was, you weren't going to live anywhere in Marinold. She and her family were well known there and had a reputation
' Right, you can stay in this room, until we figure something out"
Caitlin walked into her room and sat on her bed
' It's a bit small isn't it?"
' Quiet Frost. You know I don't care about the size of my room. I'm not materialistic. I just want somewhere that I can breathe"
' I didn't mean that. I'm just saying that our room back home is bigger than this whole place"
' Well obviously. We live in a palace back there. But I don't mind this small place. It's quite nice to try something different actually. This is my adventure so if I'm not complaining, neither should you"
' Fine Caitlin but what do we think about this boy? Who is he and what does he want with us? Why does he want to help us?"
' I don't know but I'm a-bit tired. I just want to sleep and dream about home"
