Feelings. Feeling things. Emotions. People. All of it was gross. That's how John saw it. He didn't want to have mushy, gross feelings for anyone, he was above all that nonsense. He was a real man, he didn't need anyone to complete him.

"Hey John." Ringo called, skipping up to him.

Or maybe he did.

"Hey Ringo," John smiled, "What's up?"

Ringo didn't answer, instead taking John's hand in his and kissing him on the cheek. It was sweet, something simple that Ringo did to greet John. He did it every time without fail and everytime, without fail, John found his ears redder than cherries and his eyes wandering to their clasped hands, finding his own to already be sweaty.

"I just wanted to say hi." Ringo giggled, smiling at John's warm face.

"Hi." John spat.

"John, you're the best boyfriend in the world, yeah?' Ringo began and John already knew where this was leading.

"What do you want?" John, though the game was fun, wasn't going to let Ringo think buttering him up would make John agree to anything. Of course, John would agree with anything Ringo suggested, but he didn't want Ringo to think compliments were his way to get what he wanted.

Ringo turned pink around the ears, "Well... I wanted to get something, specifically this plush toy, but I don't have any money..."

John sighed, "How much is it?"

Ringo tugged John a bit towards the toy aisle, and John, with his hand firmly set in Ringo's, followed along without complaint. He had no reason to after all, content to simply be with him. He also liked the look on Ringo's face whenever John bought him anything.

"It's this one." Ringo said, pointing to a rotund bear with a silken red bow around its neck. It was big, easily about half the size of the drummer. John looked at the tag and paled.

"Thirty pounds? For this?" John couldn't help but to gasp it out loud, only to regret it when Ringo visibly deflated.

"I-If it's too much-" Ringo started but John, who had already regretted his words, butted in, "No! No, I'll get it."

Ringo immediately got back his cheerful smile, those round cherubic cheeks filling out and the crinkles around his eyes returning when his mouth turned into the most adorable smile John had ever seen in his life.

"Oh Thank you! I'll love her forever!" Ringo giggled, taking the toy up in his arms with a childish glee.

"Ah, ah, ah," John tutted, "As repayment, you have to hold my hand for the rest of the day."

Ringo only flew more with joy, hoisting his teddy into one arm and grabbing John's hand with the other. He leaned up and met John's lips, giving the man a sweet kiss.

"Anything for you Johnny." Ringo smiled, leaning his head on John's shoulder as they headed towards the checkout.

John felt his heart beating against his chest, thrumming with a ferociousness that he feared would burst from his ribcage. He steeled his nerves and changed the conversation.

"So, your teddy's a she? What's her name?" John asked.

"Matilda." Ringo giggled.

"Matilda, and why that name?"

"I dunno, it just seems to fit her."

"I agree, it does, doesn't it?"
