Chapter 1

"Blade please!"

"No, Adeline."

"Please please please!"

"You do not need another pet Adeline."

"But he needs a home! Please please please! I promise promise that he will be the last one."

"Fine."

Blade glared at the woman at the shelter who was looking at them in question. This was a typical reaction due to the couple being total opposites personality and look wise.

Blade was tall, very tall. Coming from a line of tall men he took after his father. He was past 6'5 but not near 7' finding a happy medium. Having black, shaggy, untamed hair and a large scar across his eye, he seemed somewhat unhinged while still remaining extremely attractive. Having a sharp nose and jawline added to his intimidating appearance and his tanned skin and dark green dead looking eyes only further amplified his attractiveness. His structure was quite large, broad shoulders, large arms, thick muscular legs, and a strong back. Tattoos littered his body, his hands, his thighs, his arms, his chest, never a sleeve just ones randomly placed. He was quiet, not shy, just anti-social. He lacked empathy and guilt, but had never been tested for psychosis. He despised sharing and often had a violent reaction when people touched his things, besides Adeline of course. He grew up poor, a sick mother and a father who could give less of a shit. He made it a goal to be able to provide for his mother, but before his mother could see his success she passed, leaving him lonely. He know was extremely successful, in the legal and illegal world.

While Adeline was the complete opposite. She was short, never quite reaching average height, something she had always been insecure of. She had pale skin that turned red in the sun and never quite got the gist of tanning. She had long, thick dirty blonde hair that shined in the sun. Her hair had beautiful waves and her eyes held the waves of the sea, a dark blue with flecks of green and brown. She had freckles on her checks and pouty pink lips. She had a cute nose, but the freckles on her nose ruined it's appearance for her, making her resent her genetics. She had thick brows and dark eyelashes that layed straight, another insecurity of hers. She was not skinny, but had a petite frame. She blamed her height as to the reason why she never had skinny legs and a perfectly flat stomach, saying that her weight was never evenly distributed. She had large breasts and a round ass, both having light pink stretch marks, yet another insecurity of hers. She had wide hips with stretch marks and a small waist. Adeline was an over thinker and often had social anxiety. But do to her friendly nature it was hard for people to understand that she was an introvert. She was kind and people took this generosity as a chance to use her as a doormat. Adeline grew up comfortable, not wealthy, but not having to scrap to make ends meet, that was until her dad died, leaving her brother and her with nothing, as her dad died when she was young.

Blade held a lack of patience and this was really showing as the woman seemed to be incapable of doing her job and getting the dog his girl adored. He started to tap his foot and glare at the woman who had been staring at them since the entered.

"Hi! Hello! We would like to adopt this dog here!" Adeline spoke to the gaping woman.

After the woman had not responded for a couple seconds, still staring at them, Adeline the more patient one, decided to ask her again.

"Um miss? I'm sorry if I was not loud enough but we would like this dog?" She asked almost as if it was a question, slightly easing her voice believing that the woman could not hear her.

"Get my girl her fucking dog before you do not have eyes." Blade said blankly, almost as if he did not just threaten this woman.

This seemed to wake the woman from her trance and she quickly moved her gaze to the floor and nodded, making her way over to the leash hanging by the create and grabbing the one with the largest collar.

"Blaze." Adeline said hitting his chest after turning around to face him. "Do not be so violent I am sure she was just having hearing troubles." She reprimanded him.

He only stared down at her, seemingly unamused by her reprimandment. His attention to her was interfered with the clearing of a voice, making him look over to the shelter woman.

"I will ring you up and give you more information on Killan, such as food and needed shots." The woman explained and began the walk to the front desk.

"Okie-dookie-artochockie!" Adeline said, following behind the woman who was walking the dog over to the front counter and register.
Blade followed closely behind Adeline making sure to be wary of her clumsiness.

Once arriving at the register, the woman quickly typed in whatever was necessary for the transaction and flipped the screen around so that the couple could pay.

"It will be 60 dollars and if you would like to donate just inform me and I can add how ever much to the total." The woman added.

Adeline reached for her wallet inside her adorable hand-made bag, but was interrupted by the sound of the transaction going through and her Blade putting his card back into his wallet.

"Blade. I was going to pay." Adeline demanded.

"Mhm." He mumbled looking down at her, fawning over her on the inside and how adorable she is when she demands to pay.

"Here is a list of recommended food and treats, also care instructions for this particular, um, breed. They are known to be quite, to nicely put it, aggressive so good luck and have a nice day."She handed them their receipt and paper of "instructions" more like warnings. She also brings the dog around the desk and hands the lease to Blade's extended hand.

"Thank you, you too!" Adeline exclaimed taking the receipt and list from the ladies hand and turning out the door, knowing Blade will be close behind.

Once they and the dog were secure in Blades truck Adeline turned to him. "Thank you!" She said and he only nodded his head facing the road and pulling out of the empty parking lot.
