The hardest thing may very well be a character dying but the second is going back to the real world. Once you get your head out that book or stop watching that TV show everything changes. It's like you are somewhere totally different. Still though stuck in a daze from your former activity you either try to compose yourself or totally lose yourself and fangirl. (I prefer the second one. Even if I try the first it always ends up as the second.)
The real world also makes you want to go back in your getaway and continue expanding your means of fangirling. But we all have to visit the real world from time to time.
