"You need to have some water. Having you shrivel up and die today is not what I need." He hands me a clean cup of water. I hesitate drinking it but I'm so thirsty I'll fucking die either way so I drink it.

Contrasting the sheer cold of the room. My water is quite warm, and I think it taste like raspberries and lemon.

I glare at Dottore, he stares back.

"I correct myself, I meant tea, but I promise that it is not tainted in any which way, dear. It's made from the leaves of sunsetias and mint. I do hope you enjoy it.

I did taste good. I thanked Dottore for it and sipped away at it, careful to make sure not to collapse and die from any poison.

I finished my glass.

Lumine Pov

"Lumine, please don't have that whole bottle of wine tonight. Despite me allowing a single glass, which has resulted in your brimmed glass might I add, no one of your demean should be guzzling down alcohol this late of evening. I'm quite worried for you these last few days you know."

"Shush Diluc. I didn't drink the whole bottle." I turn to look him in his eyes, "besides, don't you hate this stuff?"

I can't tell if his face has concern all over it or if he's humoring me again but I don't give a damn, it's annoying either way. I lay my head in his lap as he brushes my ears with his soft, ungloved hand.

"Gosh, I don't know. Maybe one of my friends is definitely dead or some shit. Don't know if you've heard?" He shakes his head.

"Lum, I don't care how long we need to wait, they'll come back to you eventually wether they can or not. And if she is dead, that's sure of a hell lot better than whatever he would have planned for y/n." He frowns at the thought.

I hiccup. The moonlight from this giant window we're next to is really really warm, Or maybe it's from this guy or maybe- I don't know.

"I'm good at accepting the worst, like really good. That time my brother kinda disappeared? I got over it. That time the ginger freak-" Diluc hums a confused note to this, "Oh other ginger. Anyways- that shitty time the dude tried to like tsunami the whole place like, and then y/n is kidnapped by this blue shirt head and is killed? And I'm just like damn. I don't know!" I balled my fist in anger at the air just for diluc's warm fingertips to pet my hair like you would a cat.

I want a cat. Like a big fat one. Maybe like a uh mainecoone or something like that. Yeah.

"Did you only drink my wine?"

"Diluc..!" Frowning at him, I grab his wrist, pulling his hand to my face. "Yeah."

I observe each crease and fold on his finger, every corner nails collide with flesh and now I'm wondering about where his gloves are. I give his hand a small kiss, I then kiss each finger individually before moving onto his arms and then his shoulders and then his collarbone and then I pause to look in his eyes, his beautiful, golden red eyes.

"You're beautiful."

And now I'm on top of him as he kisses my lips so softly it's like a tickle until each kiss gets rougher and rougher as my arms are wrapped around him and he's wrapped around me and he keeps telling me how beautiful I look but it's Diluc that's perfect.

In the faint blue glow of the night I can see every detail on his face illuminated in such a way I can't help but smile at him when he is too.

I paw at his blouse's buttons, "I need to see every detail of you. Right now. Please." And as I told him, he unbuttons it swifter than I think I could on a regular day. Gosh he's amazing.

His body is perfectly shaped. In fact he looks like a god with his body. The lighting in the room has contrasting shadows and highlights, making me absolutely baffled by his beauty.

I immediately pull him into a hug.

"Are you sure of this Lum? I know I've said this before but you are drunk and I don't want to take advantage of you."

"Diluc raving-uh something, I've always loved you Ever since we met and you are asking if I want to do this after everything? Yes, of course I want this!" I whisper yell to him against his neck.

His hair is so soft. No matter how messy it is, it's never tangled. It's this detail that makes me beam so brightly at him.

I hurry to slip off my silk pajama top, my bra still clasped to my body, and his lips embrace mine, his breath hot and something else I can't pinpoint but I'm not focused on that. I'm focused on Diluc.

During a small moment of just adoration and gasps for air look in each others eyes he leans down to my neck, pecking his lips against it, sending chills throughout my body. I gasp as his teeth brush against the surface of my skin.

"Lumine, I love you. No matter what, I will always love you know Matter what you do. As long as you and I live."

A knock on the door surprises both of us. I mutter a few curses before struggling to find my top. Diluc helps me search too despite the fact I don't have a clue where I threw his shirt and mine.

"Yes?"

"Miss Lumine, a friend of yours wishes to see you. Please come downstairs. I think it may be serious, she looked at though-well, she looked as if she was crying before." At this late of night? Damn.

I grab my sweatshirt and rush to be fully dressed before grabbing the door handle, I turn to Diluc, mouth a small 'i love you' and ambled over to the edge of the staircase to see Fischl. Crying.

I rush down the stairs to the couch she's sat on and she's a mess; hair frizzy; nails big and chewed; her mascara smudged all over.

"Oh, fish." I lean in to hug her but she stops me.

"I don't want to be long. So I'll just say it." Her words are... normal. I can't help but notice the crack in her voice from her tears, "after we're ready to explore again, I don't think I'm gonna come with you guys."

What?

This isn't happening.

No.

"I'm really sorry it's just... well, ever since y/n got taken-"

"Y/n is dead Fishcl."

"It's just that I thought adventuring would be fun. You know? But I'm rethinking it all. I dont know where y/n is but-"

"Y/n Is dead."

"But I'm scared. What if that happened to me? Everything that happened in simple is my fault." She looks at me shakily. "And if I wasn't so annoying and stupid, they'd still be here. So I'm so sorry lumine but- I have to leave." She gets up and rushes out the door before I can even gasp a breath nevertheless a word so I'm standing there, stuck in place.

"Lumine?" I turn towards him, a tear streaked down my cheek before I run. Crying into his warm chest.

"I don't know what went wrong." It pains my larynx to make out the words. It feels like a desert wasteland with little moisture the way everything feels. The silk of my clothes feels soothing with it on. I like it.

"Can i have some water?"
