summary

EVANGELINE BRADFORD  always hated her name. evangeline, the name given to her by her father, gabriel, a former professional quidditch player who had taught her to be quick and sharp-witted, always keeping her eye on the prize. that prize being winning; she had no interest in anything else. evangeline was always confident, she had the kind of confidence that most people admired yet couldn't help but envy her for it.

her ambitions were tied heavily to reaching the heights of quidditch glory, just like her father. gabriel bradford constantly pushed his only daughter to practice and improve in an unhealthy way, yet never congratulated her on all her achievements. though evangeline loathed her father, she couldn't help but want his approval more than anything in the world. she wanted nothing more but to see him proud of her. unfortunately, he showed only disapproval and disappointment, making her try harder and harder without ever being acknowledged. this led to the start of a spiral into unhealthy perfectionism.

beautiful, ambitious, confident, competitive, intelligent and fearless were just a few ways to describe her. she wasn't afraid of anything and would stop at nothing to get what she wanted. evangeline wasn't a fool, she knew she couldn't beat hermione granger at top of her class, but what she did know, was that she could be a close second. well, she could, if it weren't for him. theodore nott. the boy in her year and house that she constantly strived against for that spot in the class. she found him annoying and insufferable, whenever she was close to being best, he was near, trying to take it away from her. would she let him, though? the answer was short and simple. no.
