Wednesday didn't respond, having closed her eyes. She was tired, not wanting to stay awake much longer than necessary. Larissa let out a heavy breath, closing her own eyes, swearing to not go so hard with Marilyn at the bar next time. Now that she thought about it, she swore she watched the teacher take water shots along with her own. With that, her phone dinged but she was too tired to care, passing out along with Wednesday.

The sun peaking through the open window, painfully woke up the pair laying in bed. Larissa felt Wednesday move away from her to move under the duvet that was covering them. The woman opted to move her arm over her eyes, groaning at her stupidity of keeping the window open.
"Mama..." Wednesday's muffled groan came from under the thick blanket. "Hurts."
"I know, darling." Larissa turned to look at the clock that read eleven twenty. Her eyes bulged when she registered it was past an acceptable time to get up. "So much for being a member of society today."
Her phone dinged dragging her attention to the small device. She leant over to grab it, realising that Marilyn had sent her the seventh text message of the day. The notification square was littered with "How's the head, sunshine ;)" "You up yet?" "Clearly not 🙄" "I'm going to storm your apartment if you don't reply soon!" "I'm calling child protective services!" Weems rolled her eyes, sending a middle finger emoji in response.
Pulling the duvet back ever so slightly, she took in the sight of Wednesday grumbling under the covers. The girl whined when the light hit her face, burrowing forwards to hide her face in Weems' chest. They were content to lay there for a while, Wednesday drifting in and out of sleep and Larissa contemplating what life choices led her to this point.
"Baby, it's time to get up soon." She murmured, stroking a hand through Wednesday's unbraided hair. The little whimpered, the soft action hurting her already pounding head. "Oh, sorry darling."
"I don't wanna get up!"
"I know, but we need to get ready and get some yummies in your tummy." Larissa told her as she wrapped her arms around the girl and sat up.Wednesday moved her face closer to the woman's neck, burying her face in the crook. "Come on, food then I'll give you some medicine, alright?"
Wednesday huffed, deciding to allow the woman to carry her to the kitchen. Thankfully she remembered to keep the other curtains in the flat drawn, creating a dark cave in the entire space. She was content with putting themselves in Wednesday's 'cave' but that wouldn't help in any sense at the moment.
Walking to the kitchen, she sat Wednesday down in the highchair. The girl held fast to the nightgown the woman was still dressed in.
"I can't get you food if you keep holding onto me like this."
"No!"
"Please? I promise you will feel better."
The goth hesitated for a moment before letting go, placing her head on the tray. Grabbing a banana from the fruit bowl, she peeled it and put it on the tray. Without raising her head, the little grasped it in her fingers and shoved the end in her mouth.
"Sit up, sweetie, we don't want you to choke."
Ignoring her mother, Wednesday continued to eat her fruit in her preferred way, ending up with banana all over her face. Larissa scooped her up from the highchair, holding her at an arm's length to avoid sticky clothes. She wiped the girls face off with a wet wipe, earning a whole new set of whines and whimpers at the action.
"I'm sorry, darling, but this wouldn't be happening if you sat up straight."
Pouting, Wednesday pushed her clean face into the caregivers chest. She tugged at the woman's blouse, clearly remembering the promise from their midnight bath session.
"Milk, Mama."
The headmistress tapped her nose.
"Soon, we've got to give you your medicine first."
Wednesday put up a slight fight at having to swallow the sickly-sweet liquid, but she put up with it when resistance made her head pound. Her mouth turned downward and she lifted her arms up, whining at her caregiver.
"Uppie!"
Taking her own headache medicine, Larissa put the bottle down and picked up Wednesday. Her phone dinged again, making her roll her eyes. She knew full well who texted her back.
"Let's see what Mary has to say, hmm?" She told the girl in her arms, who had her thumb in her mouth, scowling at the woman. "Don't look at me like that. I didn't think about giving you milk last night when I went out, alright?"
Wednesday didn't stop glaring.
Picking up her phone, she laughed when Marilyn sent back a sticker on Whatsapp. She had to hide it from Wednesday, deeming it inappropriate. She didn't think that was an appropriate response to her middle finger emoji but it was entertaining. While hiding her phone, she quickly replied with
"Nobody is being mean to you." Larissa typed and then deleted the sticker from their chat.
"Milk." Wednesday demanded around her thumb. Glaring impatiently. Making their way to the couch, the pair sat down. Wednesday moving to the other cushion waiting for the woman to pull down the top.
Larissa smiled, unbuttoning her nightgown at shoulder. She stopped when Wednesday leaned against the couch. "Are you okay, baby?"
"Don't call me that." Wednesday faced the woman but quickly turned to hide her face into the crook of her arm. "Please redress."
"I think you might want to get dressed." Larissa pointed out, making Wednesday realise she was sitting in only a nappy. She blanched, making a gesture for her caregiver to look away as she shuffled out of the living room. Grumbling under her breath, the teenager practically tore the wet nappy off her body and dressed herself in the most concealing clothes she could find.
Returning to the living room in a black sweater dress, tights and thick black leg warmers, she blushed as she sat down next to her caregiver. The woman gave her a side-eye.
"Who died? No pop of white today."
"My dignity. Let me grieve." Wednesday stared straight ahead as she spoke. "I'm strangely thirsty, I'm going to grab some water."
Weems smirked as she watched her daughter walk stiffly to the kitchen, returning a minute later. She didn't miss the way Wednesday's eye twitched anytime a noise came from outside or the school around them.
"How's the head?"
"Thumping. What did you let me do?" Wednesday raised a hand to her forehead.
"It was actually by mistake. I went out with Mary and may have drank a little too much."
"Then why do I have a hangover?"
"You see, breastfeeding while drunk-"
Wednesday raised a hand to stop her, "Say no more, I have an understanding."
"So, I am tremendously sorry about that." Larissa fiddled with the lace on the sleeve of her gown, "We're gonna have a lazy day today, if that makes you feel better."
Wednesday sighed, looking towards her cave then back to the woman who looked remorseful.
"Documentary, then?"
