y/n's pov 

Today's the first day back after summer. This year's summer has been great! I got to spent so much time with my friends and went on family vacation for the first time after dad had passed away three years ago. 

It was nice to see mom so relaxed and happy. She's been through so much shit these last few years. She definitely deserved that timeout.

I am on my way to Nick's home, so we can go to school together. Nick and I have been dating for about a year now. He's that handsome blonde-haired guy with freckles and a gorgeous smile. He's amazing at cooking and sports. Nick and I have known each other for years. He always supported me no matter what and stayed by my side when dad died.

 I don't know how I would have survived the rough times without him.

„Hey babe you ready for - „ I stand in the hallway of his house. His mom, Katy - that sweetheart - let me in. I stand in his doorframe not able to say another word. Nick looks at me in surprise as if he didn't expect me to pull up this morning. „B - babe I can explain." He's anxious, not able to form a proper excuse. Our eyes meet. His wide and in fear while mine start to fill up with tears.

„Oh hi, you must be his cousin. I'm Emma." A girl, about my age, stands in front of me greeting me with a smile. 

Nick gets up throwing on some pants. „Your cousin, huh. You know what, fuck you Nick." I storm out of the room just wanting to get out of here.

„ y/n wait. I can explain." Nick runs after me, chasing me to my car. I am ab out to start the engine as he catches up with me.

„Let's talk about this." He stands there on the sidewalk, dressed in nothing but his pyjama pants. His hair a mess, cheeks flushed and neck covered in hickeys. I start the car and drive away without saying another word. 

I need to focus on school. I am a senior this year. Can't let a stupid boy mess that up.

„Well maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much, but maybe this thing was a MASTERPIECE ‚till YOU TORE IT ALL UP, running scared, I was there, I remember it all too well",     I sing on my way to school. 

I hope no one catches me crying in my car.

I greet some of my friends as I enter the parking lot searching for a spot. „Hey y/n", Jason says getting me with a hug. „Where's Nick." I sigh. „I don't know where that cheater is." Jason looks at me in disbelief. „Oh shit. For real?" I nod. He hugs me patting my back. „Fuck that guy. You deserved better anyways." He laughs as I roll my eyes at him. „Hey folks." Nia pulls up behind us looking stunning as always. „Hey my favorite asian fellow." Jason hugs her ruffling her hair. „Ugh stop it, you idiot." I grin watching them annoy one another just how they always do. Even a blind person could spot the chemistry there.

 „Okay guys, are you ready for senior year", Nia says all hyped up. „Oh hell yes we are!" We link arms and start to walk through the hallways, Jason walking beside us greeting some classmates here and there. Suddenly I get pulled back by someone. „ y/n let's talk please." It's Nick. Of course its him. Trying to play the sincere one won't get him further now.

„I neither wanna see or talk to you" I say as I try to free myself from him. His grip tightens. „Let go of me you sick fuck", I yell. He looks at me infuriated. How could I dare to yell at him like that in front of everyone. „Call me that again and we're actually going to have a problem." 

His calm and collected behavior freaks me out. „She wants to leave. Can't you see that?"
