Government and 'I'

Government for people, democracy states

Remedies for correction, constitution dictates.

Corruption, red-tapism, harassment infests its core

By only voting, we expect an encore.

Why on government do we always lean?

As citizens our duties, are never seen.

Are we doing enough, is the question

Without any interference, we want action.

These thoughts will label me as an idealistic fool

As there is no solution to this misrule

Have ‘I’ ever used the said privileges, you must ask

Then with what right, ‘I’ suggest you this task.

Made me realize,

Before pointing fingers and giving a long speech

I should practice, what I want to preach.

Because, it’s easy to sit and teach

Vey difficult to ‘stand up’ and reach!
