Y/n pov

It's 5:30 am as I'm waking up. I hop out of bed, and go downstairs to start online school. While I'm doing school my mom starts making breakfast. The reason I do home/online school is because I model, dance, sing, and I'm hopefully gonna start acting, so my mom wants me to have time for everything. After a while my mom sets my plate of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and fruit in front of me. I set my computer to the side, and start eating. Me, my mom, and my sister talk and joke as we eat breakfast. My dad's in the military, so he's not home often. He wasn't even home when my older brother died last year. I try not to think about it much, but when I do I seem to blame it on myself. He killed himself when I was 9. He used to say I was annoying and stupid, and right before he killed himself I asked him if he wanted to go outside with me. He said no and slammed the door. Maybe I was his last straw. "Y/n? Are you alright" my mom says as she waves her hand in my face "oh yes sorry I zoned out" she grabs my plate and walks it to the sink "you should go get ready for dance it's 6:00 and it starts at 7:00, you don't wanna be late on your first day on the elite team" I get up from the table and go in my room putting on dance practice clothes

I put on a little makeup but not a lot, brush my teeth, and get in the car. On the way there we drop my sister off at gymnastics, and my aunt will pick her up. Once we get there I get out the car and grab my stuff. Me and my mom walk in the building, and see Abby at the front desk. "Hey kiddo nice to see you came, so you can go in the dancers den to meet the girls and get ready, I'm gonna tell you now this junior elite team can either make or break you". I walk into the dancers den and see three girls already there, looking at me. One with blonde hair comes up to me and starts introducing herself "hi I'm Chloe, the little one is MacKenzie-" "HEY IM NOT LITTLE" I laugh at how they talk to each other as a joke. "Like I was saying that's MacKenzie and the one with the brown hair is Kendall she's new she was subbing in for Maddie and now she a permanent member. Maybe this same thing will happen with you, well anyways what's your name" "I'm y/n, I already know Kendall. We were in the regular classes together" Kendall comes to stand next to me, Chloe, and MacKenzie. "well you already have a friend so that's good, but soon we'll all be like best friends we're like one big family" I smile at her and start stretching. After a while three more people get here and introduce themselves now I've met Chloe, Kendall, MacKenzie, Nia, Paige, and Brooke. While we're stretching Abby calls for us and our moms. We all walk into the studio room and stand in front of the pyramid. "Moms I would like you to meet y/n, she is Maddie fill in for right now and I'm sure you've met her mom" she starts pyramid after introducing me "at the bottom y/n it's your first week I have seen anything from you yet, next Kendall those legs and feet need fixing, next Nia you didn't stick out in a bad or good way, moving to the ladder Brooke you did good but you need to make sure you remember every correction, Paige I need more emotions and less flexed feet, MacKenzie you nailed every trick, and qt the top our lead maddie" we all start clapping "this week we will have a group called bad apples, Brooke and y/n will have a solo. Brooke your solo is called fly I need every cartwheel to look like your flying (I know that isn't the dance she did on that episode but I can't find the one she did). Y/n your solo is called without you it's about your dead brother. Elizabeth would you like to tell them about your son". My mom trys to smile but I can tell she's about to cry "almost exactly a year ago my son committed suicide, while my husband was away in the military" she wipes her eyes to try to stop the crying "guys this is serious, we are losing people and they're doing it by choice" after pyramid we start running the group dance

At interview

"This week we are doing a dance called bad apples because Cathy is a big enemy Abby told us we're gonna have a rat and a snood in our hair, I juat hope it's not made of dead rat and what in the world is a snood"

After the group rehearsal Abby starts running me and Brooke's solos

After She runs Brooke's solo she calls me in for mine "Ok y/n this is your first week and your first solo, I want you to put a 200% into this dance like Maddie would. While your dancing think about your brother and show emotion to that. Ok let's start"

Abby's interview
"I gave y/n a very difficult dance because even though she's only 10 she dances like she could be in the teen category"

After I finish Abby starts giving gme ways to get better at my dance "your legs need to be a bit straighter, and when I turn use as much upper body that you can so you don't get tired. Ok you can go see you tomorrow."

Home
When I get home it's already 10:00 my mom heats me up some food my aunt made and I eat dinner. After I start getting ready for bed, working on parts in my dance I struggled with, and stretch. I tell my mom and sister goodnight and go to sleep cuz I have to wake up early for school and dance tomorrow.
