With an ignited sting, her pupils dried up. Sore and red like the burning sun, she sat on the cold floor of the lounge that complemented her current emotions that floated in her heart.
Back leaned against the wall; she had her knees pulled into her chest as she rested her chin on them.
She just gazed down at her palm that held her phone. In the midst of the darkness that cascaded the whole room, the glint of light that illuminated from her phone screen blinded her sensitive eyes.
Her brother was calling
Anxiously she took wavering breaths unable to control her frantic emotions. What was she to say to him? That Eun tak is nowhere to be found?
Joo ri didn't believe that Eun tak would abandon her at the club. Yes that thought did filter into her mind for a second but she never believed it to be true. Eun tak isn't that type of person. Nonetheless, the older girl was nowhere to be found even after the police had come by. Therefore, Joo ri returned home in hope that this was where her sister in law had headed. There must have been a reason for Eun tak to have left Joo ri behind.
Unfortunately, when she got back home Joo ri found it to be empty.
Now there was nothing she could do
She sat close to the front door like a puppy waiting for its owner. Sadly, nothing but hours had passed by.
Countless calls and texts were sent to be left un-responded. For that specific reason, when Joo ri heard a call coming through she felt ecstatic; concluding that it must've been Eun tak.
But no.
Her brother was calling
This was even worse than not even receiving a call.
Letting out a despaired sigh Joo ri raised her phone in misery as tears embarked her eyes. She was terrified to speak to him. At a complete loss.
Her breath shook uncontrollably. Pressing her lips tightly against each other, Joo ri faced the ceiling to prevent her tears from surging down her cheeks. Taking a large inhale she released a breather before hitting the accept button.
"Hello"
"Hey sis!"
His cheerful tone hurt her to imagine how he'd sound if only he knew
"Eun tak said you were asleep when I called last night. I couldn't talk to you"
