A Vex Problem

Chapter 5 -Initiation (Part 2)-

"The last pair has been formed, sir," Glynda says as she taps the screen showing the pink haired girl and the black haired boy, "Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren. Poor boy... I cant possibly imagine those two getting along. Still, he's probably better off than Miss Nikos," The video feed changes to Pyrrha and Jaune's trek through the woods.

Ozpin only responds with a hum.

"I don't care what his transcripts say. That Jaune fellow is not ready for this level of combat," The feed once again changes which show's Mystogen going through the forest, still easily taking care of the Grimm, "Mr.Mystogen is most certainly showing extreme aptitude in combat compared to the other first years. Strange how many Grimm that boy is attracting..." She deactivates the tablet, "Quite strange. But at this current pace Mystogen should be reaching the temple within just a couple minutes," She turned towards Ozpin, "Even if Mr.Mystogen isn't getting a relic, what did you use the relics this year?" She only got silence, "Professor Ozpin?"

     Ozpin doesn't answer, watching his tablet with a contemplating interest as it shows the footage of  Ruby sitting in the grass and picking stray leaves while her "partner" Weiss walks in random directions.
     Back with Mystogen, he exits the greenery of the forest and into a clearing that reveals a circular stone temple, broken and decrepit but for the platforms around its inside, holding several black and gold object. He scans the area to make sure the coast was clear before walking over to the objects which he scans them, before rustling could be heard which Mystogen quickly drew his Bette Devils towards the noise which Yang and Blake walked out.

Yang holding her arms up, "Woah easy there Gunslinger, got a quickdraw there,"

He holstered his hand cannon back, "Good to see you both made it,"

Yang looks at the temple, "So this is it?"

Blake looks at a black king, confused at the 'relics', "Chess pieces?"

"Some of them are missing. Looks like we weren't the first ones here," Yang says, she looks at Mystogen, "You got yours?"

He looks at her, "Yeah I did," He says patting his pocket.

She gives a sly smiled as she walked over to the relics, "Hmmmmm..." She studies the golden knight, then picks it up to show it to Blake, "How about a cute little pony?"

Blake smirks, "Sure," The three walk towards each other to the center of the temple floor.

"That wasn't too hard!" Yang says enthusiastically.

"Well, it's not like this place is very difficult to find," Blake responds.

"I guess the Grimm were meant to be the roadblock, not searching for this place," Mystogen says looking around.

     A high-pitched scream is heard by the three, where Yang and Mystogen turns towards the direction of its source.

"Some girl's in trouble!" Yang says, "Blake, Mystogen did you hear that?"

"I believe that was Jaune actually," Ghost says within Mystogen's helmet.

"That I did," Mystogen replies though Blake doesn't answer, staring at something in the sky.

"Blake, did you hear that? What should we do?" Yang asks which Blake is still staring skyward and then points for Yang and Mystogen to look up.

"Heads uuuuuuuuup!" Ruby yells as she comes falling towards the trio.

     Just as she's about to hit the ground panicking, Jaune Arc comes flying through the air and crashes into Ruby, knocking her off course and sending them both into a tree to the left of where Blake and Yang are standing. Ruby is dazed by the rough landing, "Oohhhh.... What was that?" The dizziness passes when she shakes her head.
