"You don't like anyone," Rhaenyra exclaimed.

"I like you"

The youngest rolled her eyes, in the back of her mind several images of her sister being happy to be surrounded by people appeared, all of them somewhat blurred, reminding her that her sister was no longer the same since the death of King Jaehaerys . Cerys took one last look at Dhagara before beginning her tour of the city. She knew that riding a horse wasn't the best after spending most of the morning flying a dragon, but she needed to feel some extra freedom before returning home and being stifled by the duties that fell to her as the king's eldest daughter.

Although she was not the heir and there were those who wanted her to be, Cerys had expectations to live up to, especially given the faith everyone had in her because of her closeness to the former king. Her father had attempted to integrate her into court affairs on several occasions, and each of those attempts turned out to be unsuccessful. His eldest daughter didn't like political matters, despite being good at them, but he knew that she was only pretending not to be interested in order to pressure him and force him to let her go around the world as she wished. Which was never going to happen.

"Princess, the queen wants to see you", one of her maids received her at the gates of the fortress, "do you want to change your clothes?"

"It's not necessary, I won't be at the council meeting today." She continued her way into the fortress with her head held high.

"Excuse me, princess, but King Viserys...

"Rhaenyra will be with him, my presence doesn't matter", she handed her gloves to the woman, "I don't want to hear more about it, I'll be with my mother"

The poor woman curtsied and stayed where she was watching the princess walk with sure steps down the hall. It didn't take long for Cerys to reach her mother's room, upon entering she found the woman sitting near the window with two maids by her side. A smile grew on the princess's face as soon as she saw her mother, not caring much she ran across the room until she reached her side.

"Cerys", the queen took her daughter's hand as soon as she was close, "my little dragon"

"Mother", the princess knelt on the ground, " how are you? You need something?"

"You worry too much, darling." Aemma caressed her daughter's cheek with her free hand. "I'm fine."

"You don't look very good to my eyes, mother."

"Where is Rhaenyra?" she decided to change the subject. "I don't like it when you guys go flying when I'm in this condition."

"Rhaenyra is getting ready for the council meeting, a meeting I won't go to even if you drag me out of here." Aemma laughed at her daughter's words.

"Your father expected you to be with him," she reminded her daughter.

"Whether I'm present or not doesn't affect anything, they never listen to my opinions", Cerys laid her head on the side of her mother's bulging belly, "I tried to make them listen, but nothing works"

"At some point they will, you don't have to give up."

"I think you misunderstand me, mother," the princess straightened, "I haven't given up, I'm just planning my next coup."
