Start from the beginning

"So, a picnic?"

"Maybe? But maybe there's
just a bunch of baby turtles in
there that we're about to free."

"I don't know why but this sounds
cruel and illegal somehow.."

"But we're giving them freedom!"

"Min, there aren't any baby
turtles, aren't they?"

And the ravenette only pouted
and nodded when Jisung giggled
and pecked his cheek.

"It's okay, you can still surprise me.
I won't ask anymore questions."

Together they made their way to
the beach where a cream-colored
blanket was already spread out,
a few pillows laying on it just like
some red plumeria flowers
Jisung loved so much.

"Oh my gosh, a picnic!
You're so sweet, I'm really surprised!"

The blonde giggled cutely as he
tugged excitedly on his husband's
hand but Minho only snorted and
booped the younger's nose.

"Shut up, you're mean.
But at least you don't know
what I actually prepared, hm?
Make yourself comfortable, my love."

And while Jisung arranged the
pillows so he could sit comfortably
without having any sort of pain,
Minho placed different bowls
and plates on the blanket.

He had prepared a variety of fruits,
some fried rice, marinated fish
and steamed egg.

And of course:
chocolate banana pancakes
as dessert.

"Thank you so much, Min.
Everything looks so good,
you're really the best husband."

"Because I can cook?"

"No, because you're the best thing
that has ever happened to me.
And because your tiny kitten is
craving bananas with chocolate."

"I know, that's why I prepared
the pancakes. A good dad knows
his little one's wishes."

Minho chuckled as he picked
up a piece of mango and fed
it to his husband.

"You don't know how happy I am
to spend today with you here, in
peace without anyone disturbing us.
I loved our past anniversary vacations
too but this one feels very special.
I don't even know why, to be honest."

"Maybe because this is a relaxing
vacation to recover from all the stress,
we're not here to visit fancy places.
And maybe it's also because this is
our first anniversary as parents."

Parents.

Alone the simple word made
both their hearts flutter.

Both had taken different ways
to come to terms with the fact
that there was a tiny human
growing under Jisung's heart
but now they were here, with
a son on the way and the proudest. smiles on their faces whenever
they just thought about their baby.

"I wonder how it'll be in a year.
You know.. When he's actually here.
I don't think we'll be able to fly
with a seven months old baby.
Not technically, I just think he'll
be too small for that and it'll
be such a hassle.

Also it'll be interesting enough
to simply leave our apartment while keeping him hidden from any cameras. We might not be able to
hide it forever that we have a child but the world shouldn't see his face
as long as he's not old enough
to decide for himself."

"We'll be fine, Sungie.
I know we'll be because I got
the best husband in the world
and our son got the best mommy
he could ever wish for.
You're so amazing, never forget
that, okay? Now open up or I'll
eat this piece of pancake."

And Minho couldn't help but
smile widely as he fed the other
the piece of pancake and placed a
little peck on Jisung's chubby cheek.

He was right, they'd be fine.

Because they had each other.
