"I missed you too, mom." You hugged her back, resting your head on your shoulder as she got shorter with time.

"Come on, I already hired some people to help you dress up for the dinner party." Your mom broke away from the hug.

"Mom, I told you that I didn't need it. You know I'm capable of dressing myself up, right?" You complained as you walked with your mom towards your bedroom upstairs.

"I know you are darling. However, this is your father's idea. You know how he is. He cares too much about public image." She told you as you rolled your eyes.

There she goes again, using dad as an excuse.

"Alright then." You mumbled.

You entered your bedroom and saw the stylists your mom had hired waiting for you. On your bed was a beautiful evening dress lying flat. You took notice of the plastic that was wrapped around the dress and figured your mom had gone out and bought it for you.

"Good afternoon, Miss Okuta." One of the stylists greeted you.

"Good morning." You smiled back before taking a seat in front of your vanity, which was filled with cosmetic products the stylists had brought.

For a few hours, you sat there as the stylists did their job, applying cosmetics to enhance your soft features and styling your hair. After they were done, they both helped you put on the evening dress your mom had bought specifically for you.

The dress was a beautiful, silky, green off-shoulder mermaid dress with a slit up to your mid-thigh. The straps of the dress elegantly dropped laterally on your arms, showcasing your narrowed shoulders. The slim dress was able to show off your curves and bust perfectly. And to top it off, you wore a heel colored gold.

"You are stunning." The stylists complimented you as soon as they saw how perfectly the dress fitted you.

"No, I'm not at all." You denied the compliment, wanting to stay humble.

You were making your way downstairs when you overheard a conversation between your parents. Immediately, you noticed how quiet they were talking, or, should you say, arguing with one another. Although you could barely make out the words they were saying, you knew it was about you. Whenever a problem arises, you are always the reason why, about 98 percent of the time.

You quickly cleared your throat, announcing your entrance as you walked down the hallway, seeing your parents shocked as they looked at you.

"Why are you both making those faces?" You asked, not liking the atmosphere one bit.

"Oh, it's because, uh—you look so gorgeous, my darling!" Your mom ran up to admire you up close as she gave you a nervous smile.

"Of course she is carrying my genes after all." Your father made a joke to lighten up your mood.

"Dabi, do not do anything until given an order."

"And why should I do that?" Dabi nonchalantly asked as he parked right by the front of the building.

"Just stay there. We're only here to spy on the enemy."

"You should've forced Twice or someone else to come." Dabi rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms behind his head.

"We've talked about this before—"

Dabi clicked the red button, cutting his boss off as he hung up the call, when his eyes caught a glimpse of the lady in green. Right away, he recognized the lady as the one he's trying to pursue. His heart raced as his eyes captured this image of her.

Without him knowing, he was smiling as he watched your dazzling smile greet the guests at the entrance. He loved the way your hair rested on one side of your chest. The way your smile shined brighter than the lights and the stars tonight. He couldn't help but admire how beautiful you were tonight.

If only he were there as a guest and not on a mission, he'd run up to you instantly. He'd have his usual conversations with you and admire you up close rather than far away.

"Good evening." You smiled, greeting every person you met at the dinner party.

You've got to say, you definitely weren't expecting this many people, nor did you expect it to be at one of the most expensive hotels in Japan. Everyone who was there had dressed to impress, which made the atmosphere better than you thought.

"Y/N, this is Kai Chisaki." Your parents introduced you to a man dressed in a green tuxedo. It was odd how you both were coincidentally matching, but that was far from the point. You just wanted to leave, as you knew where this was going.

"Good evening, sir." You greeted the brown haired man with a smile as you scanned his facial features. He was indeed a good-looking man with those golden eyes and soft features.

"It is a pleasure to finally meet you." He smiled back at you as he stretched his gloved hand out to you.

Confused, but you didn't let it show. You took his hand and shook it before letting go as you processed what he just said. It was weird that he had been wanting to meet you, but you just shrugged it off.

"Well, should we get to our designated seats?" Your mom suggested it as you followed her to a table in the very front, near the stage.

You were surprised when your mom said that, though you didn't show it. You thought she was probably going to talk about how handsome he was and how good of a husband he would be. It was weird, but in a good way, you could say. A part of you was happy, but the other felt anxious.

For some reason, the man named Kai followed your family to your table and took a seat next to you. Though you didn't know the reason why, you decided not to pay any attention to him, as he probably just shared the same table as your family.

As you stared into nothingness, you couldn't help but wonder what the man who lives across from you was doing. Without you knowing it, a smile appeared on your stoic face as you recalled the memories with him. The only thing you wanted was to leave this place so you could talk to him.

"Ahem." Kai cleared his throat as he covered his mouth, halting your thoughts about your neighbor.

You turned your head, and your gaze fell upon the golden-eyed man sitting next to you. However, your eyes quickly directed to the stage as the lights dimmed and the spotlight was on a certain middle-aged man on the stage.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!" He greeted the crowds through the microphone in his hand. "First, I would like to thank you all for coming by to this dinner party. Secondly, I hope you all have fun." He added, trying to hype the audience up. "I know you all must be wondering why you all have gathered here, so let me break the news to you all." He smiled.

"As you all know, we have invented a new invention that is yet to be announced. However, that isn't why we are here. The reason why I have gathered you all is to celebrate the engagement between my son Kai Chisaki and Y/N Okuta."
