Chapter Two: The Anti-Fan

The break ended in a blink of an eye. In just a snap, we're back to work again. Nag-iisa ako ngayon sa lobby dahil halos lahat ng cupid ay nasa earth. They are all busy thickening and pulling the red string of fate to make two people closer.

Nakaupo ako sa main sofa na katapat ng biggest monitor ng headquarters namin. I patiently kept an eye on a good crimson thread. Ang dalawang tao ay medyo malapit lang sa isa't isa. But through observation, I noticed that they didn't know each other.

All the humans in the monitor are represented by a human icon. We cupids only distinguish their gender because of the icon's color, blue and pink. Ngayon na may target na 'ko, kumuha ako ng popcorn sa pantry at dumiretso sa room ko.

Binuksan ko ang television at laptop ko. I took the remote and zoomed in to my targets. May software din kami sa laptop namin na installed para makita ang mga tao na destined for each other. I simply tapped the icon of my targets. In just a snap, lumitaw lahat ng basic information niya sa laptop ko.

Dhruv Dela Cuesta, a famous model in his twenties. An only child and currently single.

Blaire Pedraza, a reporter in her early twenties. She's the breadwinner of her family. She have three younger siblings.

Dhruv is single according to the basic biodata. Blaire's current status is not stated. I stared at the television while munching my popcorn.

Posible kayang nasa isang situationship si Blaire?

We cupids call it situationship when two mortals are flirting with each other but they are not in a relationship. Tumitig lang ako sa television habang nag-iisip ng magandang plano.

So first, kailangan muna nilang magkakilala. Na mukhang hindi ko na kailangan problemahin dahil parang nag-uusap sila ngayon. Their icons are really close to each other. Agad din silang naghiwalay.

Bigla na lang naglapit ang icon ni Blaire at ang icon ng isang lalaki. Using my laptop, I tapped his icon.

Timber Legaspi, a swimmer at a known university.

Iyon lang ang information about him. Timber's red string is connected to another girl. Kaya naman Blaire and Timber shouldn't be in a situationship.  But that is just the worse case scenario. Sana naman mali ako.

I watched their icons for hours. Nagdikit ang icon nila for several times pero naglalayo rin. Napipikit na 'ko dahil sa antok ngunit agad na nagising nang biglang mag-iba ang shade ng string nila.

Napatayo ako dahil naging maroon. Due to impulsiveness, I quickly tapped the heart on my bracelet that quickly transported me to earth. Good thing I pinned the location in my laptop near to them. Connected kasi ang phone at laptop ko.

I landed at a bench. Nang luminga-linga ako ay na-realize ko na nasa isa akong park. It's currently night time. Same time lang din sa headquarters namin.

Luckily, my hand phone is in my pocket. Lahat kaming cupids ay may special features or applications sa bawat devices na pag-aari namin. I opened the compass and followed the direction which leads to Blaire's apartment.

Naupo ako sa tapat ng building at sumandal sa poste. Malalim na ang gabi at matagal pa ang umaga. Kaya natulog na lang muna ako.

Nagising ako dahil sa maiingay na mga motor na dumadaan sa harap ko. Saktong pagmulat ng mga mata ko ay ang paglabas ni Blaire. She looked at me as if I am a weird homeless person.
