Ivory could feel Brittny tensing up and knew she was about to snap. One thing Britt doesn't tolerate is disrespect, especially when she didn't start the problem. Jordan was genuinely taken aback by Michael saying that to her best friend. She wanted to go up to Mike and slap him herself for how disrespectful that was to say to a woman, but she decided to keep the peace since she knew Britt would cause enough commotion on her own. Ivy covered Brittny's lips, pleading with her to ignore what was said and just continue enjoying herself. By the look in Ivory's eyes, it was obvious she didn't want to cause any drama tonight. Brittny glared at the group of boys with pure anger and irritation written over her face as Ivy led her toward the bathroom.
While the two groups were getting off to a bad start at just the introduction, Chris watched curiously from a distance; he didn't follow the boys over to TJ after he called them over out of respect for Shayla. It would look weird if he walked over there to get to know some girls when his girlfriend was sitting in his lap at that very moment, so he just watched the interaction play out, trying to guess what went on. Having fictional control over the narrative of their encounter was genuinely amusing to Christopher since he was already familiar with his friend's mannerisms.
Christopher spent years observing his friends' behaviors and facial expressions so just by watching the interaction he used what their body language conveyed to aid the storyline of his daydream. The conversation appeared to be starting off smoothly but took a turn very fast, a little too fast, and by the looks on the ladies' faces, they didn't seem to be feeling comfortable in the company of the boys. Watching the energy of the group shift, he glanced down at Da'Shayla, feeling her heart rate increase in his arms as she also stared toward his group of friends. She seemed agitated or bothered by something which ignited Christopher's concern. He couldn't figure out what was going on with his group of friends or his girlfriend, he was no longer enjoying his fictional stimuli and decided to reassociate into reality. As the couple watched the girls walk away while one of them caused a scene trying to drag her friend through the crowd of people, they noticed Chris's friends approach him again, looking irritated and tired.
The night seemed to be going well for everyone except Brittny, who was having a panic attack in the bathroom as the girls stood there together discussing what just happened. Brittny was angry because she didn't get a chance to cuss Michael out for his disrespectful comments but was even more upset that on their way to the bathroom, someone spilled a drink on her boots. Even though Jordan worried Brittny was going to swing on someone, it wouldn't have been that terrible if she was able to make Michael realize he offended her, especially since Ivory didn't let Brittny respond.
*Chris's POV*
"Man, what happened? I thought y'all niggas were leaving with them," I say, laughing at the look on my friends' faces as they come back to the DJ booth.
I light up two blunts and send one into the rotation while I wait for them to finish explaining to me how they just fumbled three baddies in 5 minutes.
"....so basically, it was this nigga Mike's fault; he always scares the hoes," James complained rubbing his forehead as he finished explaining how Mike fucked up yet another one of their three-man missions.
"Man, fuck you! She knew I was playing anyways!" Mike waves everyone off before picking up his cup and taking a long sip.
Ignoring Michael's childish outburst, we all turn our attention back to our surroundings. We all know how Mike's mouth can get and James has been friends with him since elementary, so when he says the hoes are scared, I believe him. You just have to know him personally to understand that he is joking around, or he could simply watch his fucking mouth to prevent shit like this from happening in the first place. Feeling my body shift I look down to see Shayla tapping her legs and typing away on her phone.
I take a slow pull from my blunt before putting it in front of Shayla, who, surprisingly, was eager to snatch it away and take a hit. I look back at my homies who were reminiscing about the girls they just missed out on, as if, they weren't at a party full of beautiful women ready to have a good time with damn near anybody. This party turned out to be a success, everybody is in here showing their ass right now and I'm glad I'm here to witness. I thought tonight would've been a wild one for me, but I think spectating and chilling with the homies will satisfy me for tonight. Plus, I'm not trying to do too much in here tonight because Shayla's coming home with me for the weekend.
I overhear TJ asking if he should find Ivory, the girl he came over here with, and ask if he can talk to her alone. I thought she was kind of cute, all three of them were cute and looked good in their outfits. I didn't really get a chance to see them up close so I'll hold off on labeling them as cute in my books; for all I know, they could just only look good in dark lighting with makeup on. I chuckle to myself as I snuggle up behind Shay, wrapping an arm around her waist. I take my blunt from her and grab a few pulls for myself before it dies out. I wanted to roll up again, but TJ ran off looking for that shorty with the rest of the woods in his pocket.
I scan my surroundings as I start bopping my head to the music. This doesn't seem like the night to dance and socialize with people, I just wanted to kick back tonight. Da'Shayla already showed me what kinda night she wanted us to have when we went in the back room earlier, so I'd rather just chill with her and get a little tipsy before we head back to Michael's place. I exhale and get back into the crowd as the smoke covers our little section of the room, time to enjoy this party.
