Hi everyone! Just wanted to take a moment to Thank yall for reading my story! I'm going to try to post the outfits Lucy wears, just because I love polyvore so much ;)

Thanks! - Tots

My first official day in New York started exactly how I thought it would, lonely. I woke up after a restless night, glancing at the clock. 9:24 am. I pulled myself into a quick shower, took my time blow drying my hair and slipped into some very comfortable black high waisted pants. I pulled on a black cropped tshirt and paired it with gold and cream crotchet sandals. The perfect casual outfit for a walk through my new city. Grabbing the Chloe crossbody off of the hook that contained all of my new and unnecessary designer purses, I threw my phone, keys and wallet into it. My mother was of course nowhere to be found, probably at work.

I already knew what to expect from her. She was just a place to live comfortably until I could get on my feet and find a place on my own after I earned my citizenship, although I'm sure she wouldn't notice if I never left.

I exited the lift to the lobby, sending a small wave to Gerald as he held the door open for me. The weather was beautiful, not hot but not cold. The upper east side was beautiful and well taken care of, and was exactly how I imagined it to look... Especially after my hours and hours of binge watching Gossip Girl. I came across a little coffee shop, Sip and Stir, and went inside, suddenly craving a chai tea.

After placing my drink order I sat in a little booth, facing the window making it easy for me to people watch, aka what I do best. My eyes made contact with familiar, yet distant icy blues and I couldn't look away. He kept a stony face as he entered the coffee shop, looking away and pretending as if I hadn't been there. With him was a beautiful, breath taking girl with blonde waves and tan sun kissed skin that seemed to shimmer when light hit it( not in a creepy twilight way don't worry). A tan muscular blonde boy who instantly reminded me of Nate Archibald laughed lively with the girl. Carson stood out, with dark hair and dark personality. I noticed his muscular arms were covered in tattoos that I hadn't noticed before due to him wearing his leather jacket when we had first met. I watched as the group ordered and I looked away, ashamed of myself. It was rude to stare at people, a lesson my dad had etched into my brain since I was young.

I began to stir my chai and looked out the window, not noticing when the three of them took a seat down at my table.

"Hi! I'm Lily, you're Lucy right?" The beautiful blonde flashes her perfect white teeth at me. I must of looked hilarious, surprise all over my face.

I smiled back at her, "Yes! Nice to meet you."

Her smile got bigger when I spoke. "Australian?!"

"Yeah haha" I awkwardly laughed. "I'm from Melbourne."

"That's sooo cool. I went to Sydney last year for a week." She examined me, but not in a bitchy mean girl kind of way. I found it hard to believe someone as beautiful could be so nice. "You're gorgeous! This is my twin brother Liam, and you already know Carson right?"

I looked over at Liam and Carson. Carson looked bored, which seemed to be a regular thing for him but Liam flashes me an equally perfect smile. So charming. The twins were like a ray of sunshine compared to Carson's dark composure.

"Um kind of..."

"Her moms, Marjorie Earnhart, the one who called me a stray." He interrupted me. What's with everyone always interrupting me? Lily let out a magical laugh.

"You are such a stray!" She teased before returning her attention back to me. "What brings you to New York, Lucy?"

"I needed a change of scenery." it was the truth even if it wasn't the full truth. I didn't want anyone to feel bad for me. I had ran away from all of the looks of sympathy back in Australia. I had never been a very social person and I had always kept to myself. I had really only had one friend I left behind when I left, everyone seemed to leave me the last few months before my dad passed. All of my life all I had ever known was people leaving except for my dad so when he had been diagnosed with cancer I had begun to focus all of my time on taking care of him. Since he was bedridden and I didn't trust anyone else to care for him correctly, I couldn't commit to a social life. After awhile my friends stopped asking me to come out with them. After he passed away I no one even bothered to offer their condolences, they just disappeared from my world... Just like my mother.

To be fair, she had appeared just when I needed her. If it hadn't been for her having me shipped to her I would have moped around all day in lonely misery, stuck in a house full of my fathers memory.

"I'm having a rooftop party tonight, you should come. You can meet all of my friends!" Lily offered with a sparkle in her eye.

As much as I knew I needed to get out and be social, I just wasn't up to it. It was too soon. I didn't deserve to go out and have fun while my father was back in Australia, six feet under. "I'm not much of a party person... I don't know."

"She's not going to take no for an answer." Liam informed me.

"He's right, I'm not." It wouldn't hurt I guess "Please come!"

She grabbed my phone from where it was placed on the table and entered her phone number in, calling herself to make sure she had my phone number.

"Well it's settled then, you're coming" she smirked, knowing she had won. I had a feeling lily was used to getting her way.

"Okay.." I said, feeling a little overwhelmed.

"If you don't want to come, then don't." Carson rudely interrupted and stated seriously. "Don't just come because Lily is obnoxious."

She shot him a dirty look, narrowing her eyes at him. "Don't listen to my cousin. He's 90% asshole. Don't ask me how, he just is. It's obviously not hereditary."

"Don't worry! I'll be there." I smiled.

Maybe it was time to make friends.
