"Hi! Just a heads up, gotta be quick cuz I've got a crying little clinging to me, um, I saw Wednesday's family in town earlier. And Enid's. I swear, I turned my back for a moment and that grey haired bitch- sorry, honey, I know- ugh, she slapped Enid! Honestly. Like what kind of a mother- just a second-"

"Wait, hold on, breathe. Is Enid okay?"

"Shaken up, but yes."

"Okay. You saw Enid and Wednesday's families?"

"Yes- Thank you, Enid put this on your face- I'm at the cafe, and I was going to call you to tell you we got a table, but - I have to go, Enid dropped into a younger head space-"

"Okay, are you still down for meeting up with us or do you want to rain check this?"

There was a sigh from the other end, "I'll call you back when I calm her down enough to have a coherent thought. Bye Lars, I'll keep you updated."

"Good luck." With that the line went dead as she ran a hand through her hair. Looking around her, she noticed the macabre family standing in eyesight of them. Straightening up, the tall woman decided to pop into the closest shop to give time for them to migrate somewhere else.

"What's wrong with 'Nid?"

"Nothing, darling. Someone was just mean to her..." Larissa looked around the small antique shop with a sense of dread. This was the weird store, Uriah's Heap, that the students deemed too freaky to step foot into. Better than outside with the Addams lingering close by.

"Mama! Look!" Wednesday pointed to the taxidermy shelf, a squirrel dressed as Freddy Cougar catching the girl's attention. "Can I get it? Please?"

Weems looked behind her, slightly on edge about going outside again, but staying inside the creepy place made her stomach churn. Wednesday unbuckled herself, going to the glass display case while the tall woman was distracted.

Giggling, she reached a hand out to pet the stuffed rodent. She frowned when what looked soft was rough and scratchy. "Never mind, Mama. He feels yucky!"

"Back in the seat, Darling." She said in a rushed tone. As she glanced out the window, she watched as the family pointed and nodded towards the shop they were in. Horrified as they made the small distance to the door. Thinking quickly, she pulled her jacket off and placed it over the opening of the stroller.

"What are you doing?" Wednesday asked as she pushed the bottom of the fabric out of the way. Larissa pushed it down, trying to cover her charge. "It's hot in here-"

The bell rang when the door opened to the antique store. Swearing under her breath, Weems pushed the stroller into the furthest corner of the shop, bending down and pretending to be looking at the items on the shelves. Her heart was racing as she stared at a tiny porcelain crow, hoping that Wednesday wouldn't start to fuss.

She internally winced when she heard the sound of her daughter's quiet whimpers coming from beside her, and then the muffled sound of the sweater falling to the floor.

"Shh, sweetie, it's okay..."

Weems tried to soothe her little, but Wednesday's whimpering turned into whines. She had no choice but to unbuckle the girl and hold her in her lap, struggling to balance her on her thighs as she stayed crouched down.

"Mama!" Wednesday cried loudly.

"Silence, you pestilent child." Morticia snapped her head to the side, "I thought I saw you in the road."

Larissa sighed, having been caught with the crying teen in her arms. She shielded Wednesday in the crook of her neck as much as she could before turning to face the dark witch.
