the door finally opens and doctors exit along with nurses. Dr Raymond came towards us and all of us stood from wherever we were. He has been our family doctor for years and we trust him a lot.

"how are they "grandfather asks impatiently.

"You brought them in right on time , i am not sure if we could've saved them . Both of them have a lot of bruises and broken bones which will take a few months to heal ,although overall both of them will be fine Mrs Morelli won't be able to get pregnant ever again due to the complications in her last pregnancy. Also she gave birth not more than 1 month ago and didn't get proper postpartum care so she will need to be extra careful .Also they had some drugs in their blood stream which may cause them to have absolute no recollection about things that happened in the past few months-"

"hold on , she gave birth?" grandmother asked shocked by the news.

"yes" he replied giving us a puzzled look but we were too busy to care

mom gave birth to our younger brother and we don't know where he is.

shit.

I am sure there was no kid in that place . so its either they have him or they killed him.

"and its possible that they have no recollection of that happening" Mauro asked thinking something.

"yes it most likely is the case, they are going to wake up soon so you can visit them if you wish to" the doctor said and left .

"those german bastards might have my grandchild" grandfather said angrily pacing in the lobby.

"should we lie to them" i asked to no one in particular

"i think it will be better if we tell them, they would come to know of it eventually anyways and dad won't be happy if we lied to him " Agostino said looking at me.

i sigh " i guess so, now lets go and see them"

We enter the room to see both of them awake and talking to nurse. The room was very big and had two hospital bed parellel to each other along with two big L shaped couches on other side.

"what do you mean i already gave birth i was just 4 months along" mom said angrily glaring at the nurse.

"what is the date today" dad asked calmly seemingly understanding the situation.

"20 Jan 2023" the nurse replied and left the room after noticing us.

Both of them were shocked.

"Mom you are finally awake" benigno said rushing to her and hugging her but she was lost somewhere and didn't seem to notice what was happening around her.

"Dad are you ok?" I asked dad walking towards his bed.

" Alexander, what happened" dad asked simply but I could understand all the hidden questions in that question.

I sighed " five months ago the night when you went on the date , both of you were kidnapped by Germans . We tried finding you but we weren't successful untill today."

" Why don't we remember anything"

"The doctor said that you had some drugs in your blood stream that may cause you amnesia and you probably won't ever remember what happened there" Matteo said coming towards us and standing next to me.
