The wolf-like creature's expression hardened into a snarl but held back from any further conflict.

"I don't need to kill them," he sneered and looked back at the spacecraft leaving the planet with his hardened glare. "With the royal cores, nothing will stop Morando."

The blonde girl scrambled to her feet from the hard concrete, "I wouldn't bet on it."

The demon turned back to face her and noticed that her brother must've backed away while Alpha had been distracted and was now out of close range of the blade.

The girl shoved roughly past the demon and swung her fist harshly at Alpha, who easily avoided her slow attacks and pushed her to the earth easily.

The cackled arrogantly and continued to provoke them, "Omen has your ship, and I have your life." He whipped out a golden blaster and pointed it directly at her, "you've become so very human, little girl."

The demon once again made his way in between the weapon and the girl so he'd be shot first. Alpha growled deeply and pushed the gun to his throat and promised, "I don't know how you didn't die the first two times but I'll kill you as many times as it takes."

"Well then you better start finding a new tactic because this one obviously isn't working." The demon taunted prettily and leaned closer with a toothy grin.

He was shoved back with the force of a scorching blast that burnt his throat roughly. He hissed with pain and held the burn with a clenched jaw but remained on his feet, "as I said, it obviously isn't working."

His neck still felt weird from both the new burn mark and the recent decapitation. The flesh had stuck itself together nicely but he knew that the odd sensation wouldn't leave until each main artery had been fully reattached. His stomach felt nauseous from the injury and blood continued to pour from the stab wound but not as heavy as before.

Alpha gritted his teeth with irritation but kept the gun pointed forwards.

His attention was turned away by Stuart's incoherent babbling. He spat out unearthly words and hopped around in his squeaky slippers, and the demon began to wonder wether he'd suffered from a severe head injury.

Clearly unamused, Alpha tried shutting him up with an irritated tone, "screaming won't help you now."

"On the contrary, sir." He responded with loud confidence, "you may not listen to me, but there's someone that does."

The demon barely had enough time to comprehend what he meant when the trees around them ruffled harshly and the ground shook uneasily like waves.

"Sic 'em, Buster!" Stuart called up snidely as the pine trees parted away from each other.

Through the wake of half destroyed forest the demon's eyes widened. A large insect like creature with a black exoskeleton and red markings sprang through the woodland and let out a ground rumbling roar.

Alpha raised his gun away from the demon and blasted it frantically at the large being who seamed unfazed by the shots and used its large head to shove the wolf-creature harshly over the buildings and into the distance.

The siblings' face spread into joy as they raced over and pet the large head with giddy praises and laughing.

The demon clenched his fists. The large insect creeped towards him and cooed friendlily, it nudged the demon boy affectionately and nuzzled him.

Stuart spoke up with surprise, "he seams to like you! Almost like he recognises you."

The demon chuckled nervously but was soon saved from the awkward moment by the blonde girl.

"I don't know how your still alive but we can ask questions later. We have to find a way to get up there," she indicated to the flying spacecraft with uncertainty.

As Start and the young brother helped Zadra to her feet the brother asked, "who is this Omen?"

The demon was wondering the same.

Zadra answered as she regained balance standing upright, "a Blank, reprogrammed by Morando to kill the resistance."

The demon had been looking forward to the answer but as she spoke his mind simply whirled with even more questions than before.

Zadra continued, "It's designed to be the ultimate weapon. Even serrators can't penetrate it."

The demon guessed that serrators must be their weird weapons but held his tongue on his other questions. They could wait until later.

"Like the Zerons, but indestructible? Wonderful." The brother sighed sarcastically.

"I see no 'wonder' in this. Omen is unstoppable. I fear there is nothing we can do."

"There is always something we can do." The sister spoke with an exasperated sigh but by the tone of her voice the demon guessed she was just as lost as the rest of them.

"Aja's right. Now, where's your ship?" The brother asked, taking initiative.

'Aja' must be the girls name, the demon thought. Like Zadra, it wasn't a local name.

He could feel his vision blurring slightly as the healing process kicked in, he fell back to the back of the ground hoping nobody would spot his exhaustion.

A splinter-like, red jet shot past them through the trees with a swooshing noise.

The demon was knocked off his feet by the harsh wind created by the craft and stumbled to the hard floor. He forced himself to sit up but his vision had begun to blur more harshly and he felt disoriented. His ears began blocking out the noise around him and a harsh ring echoed in his brain.

His stomach churned. The energy it had taken to reattach his head, along with the energy needed to patch up his other wounds was beginning to drag down on him in a similar sensation.

As the event unfolded before him he could barely hear the words being spoken. A much deeper voice had begun speaking now, and the demon picked up the word 'Vex' along with a few others but struggled to remain conscious.

Light pierced the sky. The once solo ship had now collided with the much smaller one that had recently passed them. It ground itself against the white ship's body and sparks flew chaotically behind them.

An explosion unravelled across the sky in a purple-blue light. It rolled across the lightening sky in waves of energy, before the two silhouettes of ships fell down to the earth.

The large bug creature bent down to allow Stuart onto him before scurrying away. By now the demon's ears had blocked out all sound except for the noises right next to him.

Zadra turned to Aja and spoke with urgency, "we must leave for the mothership at once. We should take the human boy with us, his apparent inability to die could be useful."

She turned back around the face where the boy was formerly stood but instead her eyes trailed down to the ground.

The demon stared distantly ahead of him while slouched over his knees.

The brother followed Zadra's gaze and his face fell with concern. He crouched down beside the blue-haired boy and stared anxiously at his blood stained clothes, "are you alright? Y-your not gonna.. die?"

The demon barely heard his words but gave a stiff shake of his head. "I won't die, it just takes a lot of energy to heal.. and I swam to need a lot of it."

The brother called back to Stuart but the demon didn't catch his words. He was soon loaded onto the ginormous bug creature and carried off to god knows where.
