He grimaced and clenched his teeth as the knife continued to sink into his shoulder. His shirt was stained in warm crimson and felt sticky.

He groaned and gripped the changelings wrist firmly, steadily pulling it away before he could sink the shard of metal any further through his flesh. He made sure the knife didn't leave the wound so that blood loss would be kept to a minimum.

The wound hurt like hell and stung sharply in his shoulder each time he moved his arm. It would heal soon though. That's one of the bonuses to being a demon at least.

The changeling was pushed backwards and a blue looking troll leaped down beside him. He was adorned in dark armour that glowed an eerie red. He held a large claymore that was nearly the same size as him as he landed roughly on the debris-littered road.

"Strickler- what are you doing attacking some innocent kid!?" The blue troll grumbled with disbelief, holding the changelings shoulder firmly as though that's stop him from charging back at him.

The boy took a step back, hand clutching his impaled shoulder tightly.

"If he was innocent I wouldn't have been foolish enough to stab him! That's a demon!" The changeling snarled.

The boy began stepping backwards more, before finally turning away and sprinting down the streets. Hordes of trolls attempted to grab him as he ran, and he barely escaped running into one's spear.

He heard the blue troll's bewildered voice, "there are demons now? And nobody thought to tell me!"

The changeling pursued the boy quickly on his outstretched wings and gained speed as he continued to fly across the battle grounds.

The boy skidded around a corner and without looking found himself colliding with the same blonde girl from before. He rubbed his nose to erase the pain but quickly drew his gaze back to the musky sky.

The changeling prepared to grab him mid air, with a smug grunt, "excuse me, coming through."

The boy kept out of the way, and watched as the winged troll smashed into one of the gumm-gumms instead of himself and breathed a relieved sigh. The girl he'd ran into was looking at him with a baffled expression, and her brother looked possibly more shocked. 'Shit.'

In front of him stood something he couldn't quite explain; a figure over 6ft with wispy, luminous blue hair and a double headed scythe. Whatever they were, they weren't troll and definitely not human.

The strange figure sunk her weapon deep into the heart of a troll and watched as it crumbled to a dusty pile of rubble. "This is not our fight. We must return to the Mothership at once. The citizens of Akiridion-5 need you."

The armoured fighters screamed as they took down gumm-gumm after gumm-gumm, though seamed to be suffering minimal losses themselves. The blue lady was right, whatever was going on it seamed to be taken care of by those already involved. However, the advancing troll forces were beginning to over power them, throwing them to the side like rag dolls.

The blonde girls eyes turned steely as her expression hardened. "So do the people of Arcadia."

"Yeah um- what she said." The brother replied more hesitantly and pointed his thumb in her direction. He then turned to where the unfamiliar boy stood and quickly assessed he hadn't been injured, his eyes lingering slightly on his blood-soaked shoulder. "You need to leave, get out of Arcadia."

The boy shuffled his feet. He could already feel the pain easing in his shoulder and guessed it was beginning to heal without any problems. "Well about that... I can't really leave right now. I'd explain but there's kind of an apocalypse going on right now."

His sister looked confused, and slightly cautious but didn't argue. She didn't really have time to argue. "Fine. But stay with us so you don't get hurt out there."

The boy new she was referring to the trolls, but right now that was the least of his issues. Instead of bickering pointlessly he just silently followed after the two siblings, hoping they'd be able to distract the changeling if he came back to find him.

"Incoming!" Came a cracked voice from behind them. The guy who was walking around in his dressing gown was reaching out helplessly to them.

Out of the gloom a truck came flying towards where they were about to set foot with surprising speed. It tossed in the air and spun around with the momentum that had been used by whatever troll threw it.

A familiar figure rushed out and sliced it in two with a blazing crimson claymore. The odd smelling troll from earlier. And for the first time since seeing him the boy noticed his distinct armour. The troll hunter, he guessed. Well that means Gunmar's definitely to blame for this, and maybe even a more ancient sorcerer.

The siblings leaped out of the way of one of the van pieces as it was tossed towards them from the blow. It crashed not far off from where he stood as he too scarcely avoided the impact.

The troll hunter landed unfazed in front of them and turned back to check nobody had been hit by the flying truck.

"Is that Jim?" One of the siblings asked with bewilderment, "he looks so much more blue."

The two teenagers turned to each other with a wide gaze as though something had finally clicked. "Aja! Trollhunters!"

The strange women showed up again with a concerned expression, "my lieges, it's a distress signal," she reported as she checked what must've been an ear piece.

The girl answered with a worried tone, "from where?"

"Home."

The boy blurted out an urgent order, "we need to get back to the ship!"

The girl looked fretful and mumbled a pair of names that the boy didn't quite catch. The strange group began sprinting somewhere and he followed, not wanting another chance encounter with someone who'd recognise him as a demon.

The path towards their mysterious destination became blocked by a group of gumm-gumms and grunted animalisticly, but were soon reduced to debris by the strange women in blue. He spotted the siblings arm themselves suddenly with a pair of transparent blue blades and knew that where ever these people were from, it wasn't Earth.
