"You're spoiled." Larissa laughed as she pulled the girl into her lap. "How about we see if Enid and Marilyn are available for lunch instead?"
Pushing herself up, the goth stared at Larissa with her eyebrows furrowed before being struck with an idea. She smiled deviously and nodded quickly. Larissa was too relieved to notice the expression.
Decided, Weems took her phone and texted the woman back, asking if they would like to grab lunch with them.
"Sure, are you driving or me?" Marilyn texted back almost immediately.
Larissa thought about the CD before texting the redhead that she could drive.
"Okay, I'll pick you up in five."
Sighing she turned to the girl and hoisted her onto her hip. "Let's get you ready."
Wednesday sucked on her thumb absent-mindedly as Larissa changed her into a clean nappy and a cute black dress, staring up at the ceiling. She let her head flop onto the woman's shoulder when she picked her back up, nuzzling into her neck. Weems was pleasantly surprised, having expected a fight from her daughter at her favourite song being removed.
"Okay, shoes on..."
She murmured, slipping Wednesday's mary-janes on. The little watched her, eyes glazed over and a line of drool trailing down her face.
Wednesday didn't even complain when they were driving out of the garage when Weems put on her own music, instead simply looking out of the window. She perked up slightly when Marilyn and Enid arrived, Weems and Marilyn switching seats, and Enid started babbling nonstop to her friend.
"And then mommy dropped the glass and she said a bad word. But I can't say it because mommy said not to and-"
Wednesday pointed to the ipad on the blonde's lap. "Bus."
"Oh? You want your song?" Enid asked as Wednesday held her finger to her lips, "Okay- once second, I need to ask if it's alright-"
"It fine." Wednesday nodded, she got out rushed. "It fine."
Enid shrugged and clicked on the youtube app. Typing in the song, she clicked on the first result. Wednesday clapped happily at the animated figures getting on the bus.
"She's in a good mood." The red head commented as she watched the two from the rear view. "How have you been?"
Larissa hummed to her music, savoring the change in music for once. She could swear she's still hearing it in her head but choked it up to strained nerves.
"I'm fine besides the constant wheels on the bus song. I swear it's still playing somewhere in my brain on loop."
As they spoke Wednesday cried out, making Weems look back to see Enid trying to grab the tablet from her.
"Wednesday- no!" Enid wrestled the device from Wednesday's grasp. "I've played it like three times already! It's my turn."
Crying, Wednesday rubbed at her face, hitting the car seat she was sitting in. Soon she was kicking the back of the shapeshifter's chair.
"Wednesday, it's Enid's ipad. She can do whatever she pleases with it." Weems told as she turned around in the seat. "I also told you no more of that song today."
"She said it was okay..."
"It's alright, Enid. You didn't know." She slowly turned her head to look at her own daughter, who was blatantly avoiding eye contact. "As for you, little miss..."
"We're here!" Marilyn exclaimed, ending any possible arguments. She parked the car, getting out and going round to the back to get Enid. Weems did the same, scooping her daughter up and holding her on the hip.
