Ever since the incident where the fellow agent saved Y/n from the unwanted visitor, since Ms. Y/n revealed her past to Mr. Lockwood. The agent made his ultimate mission to protect Y/n with his life.

At first, Y/n was reluctant to give Lockwood a chance but slowly the agent made his room in her heart.

Y/n found herself in the middle of a park, near Arifs. It was her day off. She was reading a book while waiting for Lockwood. The weather was chilly in London. She drew her coat closer to her chest. She was so engrossed in her book, she didn't realise that Lockwood was sitting beside her. His head was almost on top of her shoulder, trying hard to read the content of the book.

"What are you reading?"

Y/n yelped. "How many times have I told you not to do that?" She fixed her glasses.

"Sorry"

"How long have you been creeping on my neck?"

"Not too long. You look so cute when you're buried inside a book. I was admiring your beauty" Lockwood winked.

Y/n blushed "very bold Mr Lockwood."

"When are you going to call me Anthony?"

"When the time is right."

Y/n found herself in front of 35 Portland Row but this time she was accompanied by Lockwood himself. To spend more time with her and also, to introduce her to the rest of Lockwood and Co. Lockwood rang the doorbell and waited patiently.

Beside him, Y/n who was shuffling her weight, playing with her ring. Lockwood took notice of that. He held her hand and gave a gentle squeeze, Y/n looked at him. He gave her a soft smile.
"What if they don't like me?" Y/n asked timidly.

"They will love you"

The door flung open, startling Y/n in the process. Revealing a flustered girl, with bangs, holding a glass cleaner in one hand and the door with the other "Hi. You must be Y/n." She opened the door further to let them in.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Lucy. Please come in." She took Y/n to the kitchen.

"What the hell is that?" She jumped, pointing at a jar filled with greenish substance and a bloody skull.

"George, How many times have I told you to keep that hideous thing out of my face?" Lucy said in disgust.

"You're overreacting." George claims, a boy with glasses, curly hair.

"Don't mind him." Lucy gave a awkward smile.

George kept the skull on the table while cooking a delicious meal which made Y/n's tummy growl. She thanked the heavens that nobody heard that.

"I'm almost finished." He said while giving some final touches to the dish.

"Nice to meet you. I've heard a lot about you all from Mr. Lockwood."

"Good things, hopefully" George responded.

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing board games and chatting away. The fellow agents came to know that Y/n loves learning new things. Reading is her favourite activity to do in her leisure time. George was impressed by this information. Lucy was happy to have a female around her. Sometimes the fellows become too much for her. As for Lockwood, he was carrying a proud smirk on his face.

After introducing Y/n to his friends, Lockwood gave her a tour of the house. He first showed her the basement where the agents practise their rapier skills and keep bits and pieces of the visitors they find intriguing.

"George likes to experiment on them." Lockwood told the curious girl.

Then he showed her the library. He knew she would love it. Y/n went straight to the bookshelves, admired the books in front of her. She was in awe of the collection in the library. Lockwood carefully put his arms around her waist, pulling her closer against his chest. Her back was to him, resting his chin on her shoulder. She felt chills run down her spine.

"My parents had a library like this when I was little" she quietly said, running her fingers on the spine of the books. Trying to calm her nerves down.

"You're always welcome here,Y/n. Pop in anytime you want. I'm always here for you." The last part was almost inaudible. Y/n couldn't make out much.

Lockwood closed his eyes, enjoying the silence in the room, wishing the time would stop. Y/n stood there, not breaking the hug. Y/n felt butterflies in her stomach.

"Please come by more often or we can go shopping. Whatever you like." Lucy exclaimed.

"I would love to. Thank you for having me." Y/n smiled.

"Aye, You're always welcome here." George said.

"Let me drop you home." Lockwood announced.

They bid goodbye and went on their way home.

Few weeks later, Y/n receives a call from Lucy. She invites her to go shopping. Y/n was more than happy. She always wanted a female friend, matter of fact, she always wanted a friend. After her parents' death, Y/n became extremely lonely. She have some distant relatives but they don't keep contact with her.

She excitedly got ready for the day. She opened her closet and pulled a white button down shirt, light brown plaid trousers. She put her hair in a half bun, gold hoop earrings and of course her mother's ring which she never removes from her finger. She put on her favourite shoes and went out to meet her friend.

"So what's the occasion?" Y/n asked.

"We have this case, it's peculiar to say the least. Me and Lockwood are going to the Fittes' ball."

"Interesting. Tell me more." Y/N's eyes sparkled.

Lucy smirks at her. "Come with me"

After shopping, Lucy took Y/n to Portland Row. She might not be an agent but she's always happy to help and learn more about the problem. Y/n took a seat beside George and listened to everything carefully.

"So this Mary Dulac's book. Where is it now?" Y/n whispered.

"We think it's in the Fittes building. That's why we're going to the ball." Lockwood grimly said.

"Well, I don't have any experience in this field but I want to help you guys with research. Please, Mr. Lockwood. Let me help you." Y/n pleads.

"George can use some assistance, I guess." Lockwood cleared his throat, a faint shade of red painted on his cheeks. Everyone took notice of that but Y/n, she's too oblivious.

The next few days have been hectic for Y/n. In the morning she would work at Arif's and at night she would help George with the research. Lockwood fell even harder for her. The passion she puts in her work, always willing to help no matter how tired she is. Though Lockwood was happy to have Y/n around but he felt guilty for involving her in the case. He wanted to refuse but the way she looked at him, he melted and couldn't say no to her.

Lockwood was nervously pacing around the living room, thinking about the mission. He was in a nice suit, patiently waiting for Lucy. Y/n was helping Lucy with makeup and outfit. After a moment, they both came down.

"You look good." Lockwood said.

"Well the credit goes to Y/n. She did her magic on me." Lucy smirked at them both.

Y/n felt a blush creeping on her face.
"I'll wait outside." Lucy left the couple to have some privacy.

"Be careful, Mr. Lockwood."

Lockwood nod absent minded.
"You too." Lockwood kissed her forehead.

Y/n stood by the door till the cab faded away into the distance. She entered the kitchen to grab some water when she found George looking intensely towards something. When she looked closer, she found George staring at his reflection on the kitchen window.

"George.." y/n called.

"George?"

"GEORGE!"
