When I was a kit, my Mother liked to Give Me A Rabbit or a bird Every Morning and Night. And I remember one night in particular when she had Brought a Bird after a long, hard day on patrol. On that evening so long ago, my Mom placed a Bird,

 Wood Mouse and Some Nasty Rat's. in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all dad did was reached for his Rat, smile at my Mom and ask me how my day was Playing with Autumn'kit. I don't remember what

 I told him that night, but I do remember watching Eat That Rat and Ate the whole thing! When I got up from the Nest that evening, I remember hearing my Mom apologize to my dad for Bringing Rat's for Dinner. And I'll never forget what

 he said: "Honey, I love Rat's. . ." Later that night, I went to Go Say good night to my Dad and I asked him if he really liked Rat's. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at Patrol today and she's real tired. And besides – a little Rat never hurt anyone!"
