"How pitiful," Yushi Huang said with a sad look. "I hope she'd get a happy ending soon with her child." ‌

It‌ ‌seemed‌ ‌the‌ ‌ghosts‌ ‌and‌ ‌demons‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌Ghost‌ ‌City‌ ‌were‌ ‌aware‌ ‌that‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌was‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌heavenly‌ ‌realm‌ ‌after‌ ‌all.‌ ‌

"You never bothered hiding it," Yin Yu murmured.

"How did they know?" Yizhen asked but got no answer although some did sigh.

Lan‌ ‌Chang‌ ‌wailed‌ ‌and‌ ‌started‌ ‌rolling‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌ground,‌ ‌holding‌ ‌her‌ ‌abdomen,‌ ‌as‌ ‌if‌ ‌her‌ ‌belly‌ ‌no‌ ‌longer‌ ‌made‌ ‌part‌ ‌of‌ ‌her‌ ‌body‌ ‌and‌ ‌was‌ ‌instead‌ ‌its‌ ‌own‌ ‌live‌ ‌creature,‌ ‌shrinking‌ ‌at‌ ‌times,‌ ‌swelling‌ ‌at‌ ‌times,‌ ‌and‌ ‌moved‌ ‌all‌ ‌around‌ ‌at‌ ‌times.‌ ‌

"Technically, it isn't part of her anymore," Pei Ming said, trying to lighten the tense mood.

He failed.

The‌ ‌black‌ ‌smoke‌ ‌was‌ ‌growing‌ ‌thicker;‌ ‌it‌ ‌must've‌ ‌regained‌ ‌some‌ ‌strength‌ ‌after‌ ‌having‌ ‌recovered‌ ‌some‌ ‌in‌ ‌its‌ ‌mother's‌ ‌womb,‌ ‌and‌ ‌was‌ ‌ready‌ ‌to‌ ‌start‌ ‌trouble‌ ‌again.‌ ‌The‌ ‌crowd‌ ‌of‌ ‌female‌ ‌ghosts‌ ‌had‌ ‌broken‌ ‌up‌ ‌but‌ ‌went‌ ‌back‌ ‌to‌ ‌hold‌ ‌her‌ ‌down,‌ ‌yet‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌powerless,‌ ‌and‌ ‌all‌ ‌the‌ ‌other‌ ‌ghosts‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌left‌ ‌clamoured,‌ ‌"WE‌ ‌GOT‌ ‌THIS!"‌ ‌and‌ ‌rushed‌ ‌forward‌ ‌to‌ ‌push‌ ‌her‌ ‌down.‌ ‌

"Not sure that's the best idea," Pei Su said with slight worry.

It‌ ‌was‌ ‌pandemonium‌ ‌and‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌clenched‌ ‌his‌ ‌fists,‌ ‌shouting,‌ ‌"MY‌ ‌LADY‌ ‌LAN‌ ‌CHANG!‌ ‌THE‌ ‌POWER‌ ‌OF‌ ‌THE‌ ‌FETUS‌ ‌IN‌ ‌YOUR‌ ‌BELLY‌ ‌IS‌ ‌MUCH‌ ‌STRONGER‌ ‌THAN‌ ‌YOURS,‌ ‌IT‌ ‌CAN‌ ‌HURT‌ ‌YOU‌ ‌BUT‌ ‌YOU‌ ‌COULDN'T‌ ‌BEAR‌ ‌TO‌ ‌HURT‌ ‌IT,‌ ‌YOU‌ ‌CAN'T‌ ‌DO‌ ‌ANYTHING!‌ ‌IT‌ ‌WILL‌ ‌SUCK‌ ‌YOU‌ ‌DRY‌ ‌SOONER‌ ‌OR‌ ‌LATER,‌ ‌LET‌ ‌IT‌ ‌OUT‌ ‌NOW!"‌ ‌ ‌

Some winced or stared in shock at Xie Lian's shouting; really, the man was always so composed so seeing the different emotions he was portraying in this place was always interesting no matter how many times they see it.

"Gege, you shouldn't shout too much, it will damage your voice," Hua Cheng told Xie Lian.

"But I needed to gain her attention since everyone's to-" Hua Cheng interrupted him.

"I'll do it for you next time, Gege, don't worry."

If‌ ‌Lan‌ ‌Chang‌ ‌refused‌ ‌to‌ ‌let‌ ‌go‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌thing‌ ‌hidden‌ ‌in‌ ‌her‌ ‌belly‌ ‌herself,‌ ‌she‌ ‌was‌ ‌going‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌sucked‌ ‌dry‌ ‌and‌ ‌ripped‌ ‌apart‌ ‌by‌ ‌that‌ ‌cruel‌ ‌and‌ ‌violent‌ ‌fetus‌ ‌spirit‌ ‌sooner‌ ‌or‌ ‌later,‌ ‌which‌ ‌would‌ ‌leave‌ ‌Xie‌ ‌Lian‌ ‌no‌ ‌choice‌ ‌but‌ ‌to‌ ‌personally‌ ‌cut‌ ‌it‌ ‌out‌ ‌himself.‌ ‌Although‌ ‌it‌ ‌might‌ ‌be‌ ‌better‌ ‌than‌ ‌watching‌ ‌her‌ ‌being‌ ‌ripped‌ ‌apart‌ ‌by‌ ‌her‌ ‌own‌ ‌son,‌ ‌but‌ ‌unless‌ ‌there‌ ‌was‌ ‌really‌ ‌no‌ ‌other‌ ‌way,‌ ‌it‌ ‌really‌ ‌wasn't‌ ‌something‌ ‌he‌ ‌wanted‌ ‌to‌ ‌do.‌ ‌
