Ch.56: In Search of the Past; Retracing Steps to Mount Taicang
"Mount Taicang?" Feng Xin murmured, finding it familiar.
"Dumbass." Mu Qing said while rolling his eyes.
"Do you even know what that is, huh, bastard?!" Feng Xin shouted, preparing another fight with that man.
"Now, now, calm down you two." Xie Lian pacified.
Without knowing why, Xie Lian was suddenly filled with courage again.
"Cough, love, cough." Pei Ming fake coughed gruffly, only some understanding the words he said.
'He became an extreme fanboy.' Wu Du thought while shaking his head in disappointment.
After Lang Qianqiu had left, Xie Lian's steps had been hesitant, his shoulders slumped. But this courage came from nowhere, and who knows where it would be directed to, only that it'd made him stand tall once more.
Hua Cheng felt glad that he was able to help cheer up his gege and a smile unconsciously appeared on his face.
"You shouldn't let anything make you sad, General Hua!" Banyue said.
"Yeah!" Pei Su agreed. "Nothing is more precious than yourself."
"Listen to the kids." Hua Cheng added.
He stood unmoving, and Shi Qingxuan approached, giving him a small pat on the back, "What a guy. Your Highness, I don't know how you managed to befriend him, but you're very lucky."
"I think so too." Xie Lian easily agreed with a nod while thinking of the times he interacted with Hua Cheng in the present and even in the future they are watching right now. In all those moments, he never hated or even blamed him for bad things that happened. In fact, he only asked simple things like hanging out together for some time as repayment for burning his whole house. "He's an extremely kind per-, um, ghost."
Hua Cheng felt happy when he heard this as Feng Xin and Mu Qing decided to try harder in finding flaws from the man.
This was the first time Xie Lian had heard someone tell him he was lucky. He glanced at Shi Qing Quan and smiled, "Really? Maybe. I think so too."
Hua Cheng felt even more gleeful, hearing the future Xie Lian agree. It looks like he was doing the right actions.
'The city will be extremely lively when we return.' Yin Yu thought with a small smile, really happy his boss finally found someone to be with until the end and that person was also great.
Behind them, Feng Xin continue to wipe his face. When the two turned their heads around, they saw his face covered in white strands, miserable and unkempt, and laughed. "Sorry about that." Xie Lian said.
