Meeting of the Minds

Izuku was torn, he really wanted a new friend to replace Ka-Bakugo but he also didn't want another tormentor so he decided to nip the problem and just tell this girl he was quirkless, if she mean he'd just read online if she was nice hooray new friend. "Why would you want to read with a quirkless stranger like me"? He asked with self-deprecation and fear.

"Oh, you're quirkless". She said as Izuku waited for the laughing and name-calling. "I'm quirkless too, we match new buddy". She said with joy and compassion.

"Your quirkless..." Izuku said quietly with hope in his voice, he then began to cry with joy at having met another person like him.

"Are you okay"? Melissa asked with fear thinking she'd somehow upset her new potential friend, which caused Izuku to cry harder at her compassion.

"Yes". He said with happiness in his voice at making a new friend. "I'm just happy to have a new friend Shield-san". He said as his mother and her father walked on them which caused Izuku to remember where he had heard the name 'Shield'.

"Izu" "Melissa" the adults cried out thinking their children were hurt or upset.

"Izu are you okay? Did you hurt yourself? Did you get a paper cut"? Inko asked with worry in her voice for her only child.

"I'm sorry if my daughter upset your son". The man said in more fluent Japanese, "I'm..." he couldn't finish before Izuku answered for him.

"Your David Shield, you used to work for All Might in America" the boy exclaimed with joy.

"Oh you know who I am" he said with surprise, "Anyway I'm sorry if my little girl upset you". He said with compassion and worry.

"No, I'm fine, just happy to have a new friend mr Shield". Izuku said in using Melissa and David's sentences as examples to improve his English ability.

"Oh, well a lad like you must have a lot of friends, maybe you could introduce them to Melissa". He said with hope.

"I don't have any friends, my only friend is mean to me because I'm quirkless". Izuku said with sadness having forgotten his mother was there as well.

"Wait what Kasuki's being mean to you, I thought you two were getting along together, why didn't you tell me"? Inko asked with confusion and sadness in her voice.

Izuku simply replied he didn't want to worry her and that he didn't want to jeopardise her friendship with Bakugo's mom Mitsuki. In response, she hugged him with tears in her eyes telling him that his happiness was more important than a friendship that brought him pain.

After this emotional rollercoaster, the two families formally greeted each other and started talking. Inko and David talked about adult stuff whilst David answered Izuku's seemingly endless questions about All Might, and Melissa and Izuku talked about cool quirkless heroes like Iron Man and Batman. Eventually, the store had to close for the day so Izuku and Melissa bought 15 comics each and Inko and David swapped contact information to set up play dates for their kids.

———1 year later, their both now 6———

Izuku and Melissa had been getting along like a house on fire, David had decided to stay in Japan to set the kids' friendship in stone and to tutor them both after Inko decided to pull Izuku from regular schooling to avoid more bullying and homeschool him both she and David realised that their kids were intelligent beyond their years and easily completed any subject given with little to no effort, with both showing an intuitive aptitude for the sciences so David took over and tutored the prepubescents in higher education, around high school level. Everything was going great for the two quirkless kids until fate put them in the path of another child genius, one with pink hair.

One day as Inko was taking Izuku and Melissa out to the park they heard yelling and investigated, they found Bakugo along with his goons Wings and Fingers (I'm not dignifying these two losers with actual names) picking on a girl with pink dreadlocks, a broken machine blown to bits to her right, bruises and burns covering arms and face, tears streaming from her eyes. Bakugo himself was boasting about how his quirk was better than any technology. Before he could attack again Inko yelled.

"Kasuki Bakugo what do you think you're doing"! The angry woman yelled with fury as she approached.

Bakugo stopped instantly seeing his surrogate auntie yelling at and approaching him, his goons tried to run but Inko used her quirk to stop them from getting far. Now normally Bakugo cares little for the opinions of adults but Auntie Inko scared him especially since that damned Deku told her what she was doing at preschool which led to his mother, father, and auntie chastising him for his actions.

Whilst Inko was dealing with Bakugo and his goons Izuku and Melissa helped the pink-haired girl.

"Are you okay"? They asked simultaneously whilst helping the girl to her feet.

"He broke my baby". The girl whimpered with tears still running down her face as she clutched the remains of what looked to be a small camera-eyed robot with treads in place of her legs.

"Baby, oh you mean that machine, that's cute". Melissa said in an attempt to cheer the girl up.

Said attempt worked very well.

"You don't think it's weird how I call my creations babies"? The pinkette asked with wonder and happiness lining her voice.

"Why would we think it's weird, I'm Izuku Midoriya by the way". Izuku replied

"And I'm Melissa Shield". Said, Melissa

"Mei Hatsume, and everyone at school thinks it's weird even the teachers think it's weird they say in need therapy". She replied with a voice laced with anguish.

"That's dumb"! Exclaimed Izuku. Just because you are a little different doesn't make you weird or in need of therapy it means you are unique and cool". He said with a determination to help Mei.

Mei in response has a million-watt smile.

At this point Inko had finished with her scalding of the three bullies and their parents had come to take them home and scald them some more with only Mitsuki staying a little longer to catch up with Inko, their friendship had wavered slightly since the discovery of Kastuki's actions but Izuku insisted they stay friends and they patched up only meeting when their sons weren't around. Mei's parents also showed up and thanked Inko and the two quirkless kids for helping their daughter and seemingly becoming friends with their eccentric little girl. After cleaning Mei up they exchanged contact information with Inko and left with Mei hoping to set up play dates with the kids who help their daughter.

This meeting of the three, Izuku, Melissa, and Mei, was however far more significant than many of the parents could have fathomed as it would end up altering the course of human history forever.
