After what it seems like forever,  bewaji finally came out of the courtroom with her eyes downcasted feeling embarrassed. She walked as though she is exhausted mentally and physically. She didn't notice Queen Abefe pacing the corridor worriedly.

Sluggishly she made her way towards the women's quarter but a voice called out to her and she knew it could only be her mother.

Of course she wants to explain herself. Bewaji smiled sadly, she stopped and wiped her tears because she didn't want any sympathy from her then slowly turned her back  to hear her out.

And called her "Olori Abefe"

Queen Abefe stared at bewaji's face and saw a trickles of sweats run down her face, her lip dried. A teary brown eyes; beneath those eyes she could tell bewaji has returned to her stoic self once again.

Just last night she called her Mother,  now She called her by her name "Olori Abefe" the Queen didn't like the tone in her voice.

Queen Abefe didn't know what to say or how to explain herself but she wanted to tell bewaji she wasn't the one who told the king about her secret.

Omo bewaji she called, mo mo pe o binu si mi (I know you are mad at me), believe me, I didn't reveal your secret to kabiesi, I am yet to find out who told him. Omo bewaji I was shocked too.

Olori, why would I be angry at you, anger would be understatement, you have only confirmed my doubt that you were never to be trusted, what was I expecting anyway. I am not angry the secret is out, I am upset that I trusted you last night. I fell for your manipulation. Bewaji said as more tears rolled down her face.

It doesn't matter anymore now, I am under kabiesi's oath so I will be on my best behaviour and trouble no one.

Least I forget I still need to seek adufe's forgiveness. Bewaji said with a sad smile.

Olori Abefe please if I may, may I take my leave. Bewaji hurriedly walked away with no intention of hearing any more words from her mother.

Queen Abefe felt dejected, this is the first time she felt deeply hurt hearing bewaji's words.

Bewaji decided to go see her sister Adufe and cleared up the misunderstanding between them. She breathed deeply as she reached her door, she met two maids who stood guards, she asked them to announce her arrival to her sister.

She entered her room nervously, she didn't know what state her sister might be. Bewaji didn't have a close relationship with her sister too so their interaction hasn't been smooth

Egbon mi Adufe(my dear sister) Bewaji said, The room was filled with different gifts and closets of clothes.She saw Adufe turned her back on her the moment she walked in. But bewaji still managed to sit on the bed while Her heart beat violently. she was a bit afraid of her sister's resentment towards her.

"Hmmm how are you, I don't even know how to start, I really did not mean for whatever happened.

I never had any intention of destroying or taking away your happiness, please forgive me I did not know that prince rewaju was your lover, I am so sorry I really did not mean to betray you."

Abefe suddenly cut bewaji off

"Okay why are you here? Omo bewaji, is it to apologize because you secret is revealed or you here to start giving an excuse like you didn't even know what you did

but I know you, I know you so well, you can't decieve me, you always wanted everything for yourself.

why are you so selfish? why you so cynical? Bewaji you don't even take anything into consideration before you do it.

However I don't know what to say to you, I am not mad, I am not even angry a bit.  I am going to get married to rewaju and you know what there is a absolutely nothing you can do about it. Take your witchcraft and evil heartedness away from me and my happiness.

With the response she got from her sister, she knew she can't no longer convince her or even try to absolve herself. She didn't bother speak back and forth. She just walked out of the room silently hearing her sister's hissing. She felt ashamed.

Bewaji also decided to speak to her brother once and for all, he had been the only one who took it to the extreme, everytime he sees her, he acted like she never existed and this breaks her heart.
