plot summary
The barriers between the four dimensions keep us safe. The First World is the most familiar dimension, where humans live amongst witches, werewolves, and gods. The Second Dimension is only home to the governing body responsible for the well-being of the First World. The Third Realm is a nonsensical plane that manifests true chaos magic. And then there is the Other World, a land for the dead and the dark magic associated with death.
Each dimension contains a magic that is safe for their realm, but destructive when found in another. So when floating trains, runaway dreams, and deadly carnivals begin to pop around the globe, it's clear that the barriers meant to keep the dimensions safe are slowly coming down.
Zara Storm has been in hiding for all eighteen years of her life. She couldn't tell you why, but she's never been one to worry about the semantics of anything. Until she figures out that she is the first instance of magic crossing over from another world into hers.
As she tries to unravel the mystery behind this, she's faced with a whole host of dangers, desparate to keep her from finding out the truth.
Because that truth could be the key to getting her world back to normal.

author's note
Welcome! If you've read the original version of this story: Welcome back!
If you haven't guessed by now, yes this is a complete rewrite of The Witching Hour, a book that I published on here in 2020 and completed in 2021. The original copy and its sequel have been taken down and if you have anymore questions about the original, feel free to check out my profile where I write a whole sordid tale about my decision to rewrite this book.
I'm going to be so real: the only thing that I'm keeping the same in this book are the names (sort of) and the magic system (again sort of). The plot is going to move differently and I cut a lot of characters from the first round (I've learned that large ensemble characters is just not a thing I can do and I'm okay with that!). With that being said, if you're an old reader, you're better off just reading this like a completely new story.
My goal is to finish this by the end of the summer. I know this is ambitious, but I'm forcing myself to write a chapter a day and revise at night. It might get a little trickier as the story progresses, but I have faith in the first third of the book! Right now, the plan is to make this a 30 chapter book (again this may change) and, as of right now, I have no plans for a sequel.
Thank you everyone for sticking with me/thank you for giving this book a chance. I hope you like it! Please comment and vote - I'd love to hear what you like or areas for improvement!
- Cleo
