A hope for friendship

Start from the beginning

Besides that, Taehyung thought Jeongguk had a happy-lucky life unlike him. Currently, he was making chicken sandwiches with extra cheese for Jeongguk, it was an order from his parents to make meal for their oh-so-lovely son time to time.

He didn't mind it, his feet were itching to go into Jeongguk's room. He wished to join him in singing but he should know his limits, limits of a servant of a billionaire.

"Why don't they treat me well? Am I not a human or aren't they?" He sadly mumbled, holding the plate full of sandwiches before knocking on Jeongguk's room.

He didn't get any response, how could he? The music was loud, why am I acting so dumb and weak today?

He yelled, "Mister Jeongguk!"

'Shit! It was supposed to be master Jeongguk.'

A few seconds later the door was opened by Jeongguk who had an irritated expression on his face. The music was still playing loud, Jeongguk looked at the two sandwiches; Taehyung swore he saw how his doe eyes lit up and a small smile formed on his face seeing those sandwiches, ofcourse they looked tasty. Taehyung smiled at him, that was when Jeongguk realized he had embarrassed himself as his cheeks flushed for few seconds.

"Get in."

Taehyung didn't expect this, he thought Jeongguk would just take the plate from him and shut the door on his face.

Taehyung quietly entered his room, hand still holding the plate. Jeongguk closed the door, both of them were standing awkwardly not knowing how to say what they were thinking on their own minds. Till. . .some nasty lyrics started playing,

"It's you & me in this room;
where we could fuck not thinking 'bout the timing
What're you thinking?
Just come kiss me & bite me~~"

Taehyung's eyes widened like saucers and Jeongguk externally panicked as he grabbed the remote and turned off the big sized music player.

"Shit, I only set the playlist of musics, how did it change to the song?"

Taehyung laughed loudly seeing Jeongguk's silliness, he laughed care freely.

Jeongguk had seen millions of smile before, but nobody had such cute baby like smile as Taehyung. He just didn't know why his heart ached for the nth times to see Taehyung smiling sweetly amidst his sufferings. His pure smile made Jeongguk feel like protecting Taehyung so bad, suddenly he wanted to take his all pain away and bury them into deeper than some sea so that they could never reach Taehyung.

Taehyung stopped laughing, mentally cursing for laughing like a stupid in front of Jeongguk. But what he didn't see that Jeongguk was smiling too, looking at him.

Jeongguk took the plate from Taehyung.

"Jeongguk?"

"Taehyung?"

Both called each other's name at the same time.

"Do you need anything else?" Again both of them asked at the same time. Both of them couldn't help but laugh a little at the coincidence.

"You go first." Taehyung spoke, smiling.

"Umm. . .would you mind to join me in the karaoke? I don't like this alone when you're also in this big house." He nervously chuckled while scratching his neck.

Taehyung gasped inaudibly, not believing his ears. "I was thinking to ask for this, too. I love karaoke, especially when it's pop." He said a little excitedly.

"Really?" Jeongguk's eyes lit up in happiness.

Taehyung nodded and restricted the almost uncontrollable urge to hug Jeongguk.

"Then we'll eat sandwiches later." Jeongguk said and both got immersed into singing with the loud pop musics. In the middle, Taehyung started dancing as the rhythms hyped him up. Jeongguk joined him too. Like two happy friends, they were dancing in fun. Taehyung made Jeongguk laugh so hard at his dance moves. Jeongguk couldn't help but say, "St-stop jumping like frogs. . ." His voice cracked as he laughed hard. But Taehyung didn't care, he just danced mindlessly and Jeongguk liked it.

After 1 hour they stopped, getting exhausted both of them sat on the floor.

"Taehyung?" He asked, panting.

"Yes." He answered, panting too.

"Your voice was amazingly booming."

"So was yours."

"Not as much as yours. Well, how much energy did you lose?"

"Still have plenty to dance for another hour."

"Do you want then?"

"Only if you accompany me."

"Liar." He slapped lightly on Taehyung's shoulder. "You don't have energy."

"Ain't lying. Do you wanna compete with me then?"

"Better luck next time. I don't wanna exhaust you more. You'll need energy to do the works in here."

Taehyung's smile dropped, he totally forgot about his due works. He had plenty of works to do.

What if Jeongguk's parents come here in no time?

His mind filled with worry as he got up from the floor but a firm grip dragged him down, making him fall on his ass.
"Hey, wait, wait. Where're you going? Don't rush, it's okay. Stay with me for a while."

"Jeongguk, I have works-"

"Shhh. I'll help you. Now you'll eat this one." He handed a sandwich to Taehyung, surprising him much.

"But this is yours."

"And now I'm offering this."

"You don't have to-"

"Taehyung."

He hesitantly took the sandwich, intensely gazing the food.

"Why're you doing this?" He asked quietly.

"Doing what? Aren't you hungry? Did you even eat something in morning?"

He hadn't ate.

"You're giving me this to provide me energy to do the house chores?" He asked again, still gazing the sandwich deeply.

Jeongguk almost wanted to laugh at his sentence, he wanted to laugh bitterly. Before he could speak anything, Taehyung spoke again, "You're pitying me, aren't you?"

After a plenty of seconds Jeongguk replied, "I am not pitying you, Taehyung. I just want to be genuine with you."

"Well you don't have to, you know."

"I know the situation is so hard for you and I can't help you with anything. But when I say I'm being genuine with you, it's true. Taehyung, I understand your pain-"

"No you don't." He sharply cut him off, "Or did you just understand now?"

"Taehyung. . .listen, I feel sorry for you. I want to be your friend."

This caught him off guard, but he sensed the empathy in Jeongguk's voice, he couldn't deny it. Neither he could deny to be his friend. Jeongguk's words comforted Taehyung's swollen heart, he looked up at him, locking his gaze with Jeongguk's.

"So can I. . ." He swallowed before speaking again, "Can I hug my friend?"

And in a blink of an eye he was pulled into Jeongguk's warm embrace.

I love Jeongguk and that's why I'm writing this.

Jeongguk was the only one who inspired me to be a singer. I'm not sure about my future but this man had already a huge impact in my life. So I'll return the favor to him, by loving him, writing 'bout him and singing 'bout him and I mean it.
