Wait For Me Bunny!

" Wait for me bunny!" Jane yells laughing, trying to catch up to Felix. Felix laughed at his nickname and Jane trying to catch up, running through long grass and flowers. They were 16 in Felix's backyard, it was a big beautiful place with too many kinds of flowers to count, a big weeping willow with a tire swing on it, a small pond, and a greenhouse filled with many different fruits and vegetables. Jane finally cought up to Felix and ran into him, falling on top of him inches away from one another.

Suddenly with a jerk Jane had woken from a familiar beeping noise. Head aching from the high pitched noise she hit the off button and slowly got up, Jane has been having the same repetitive dream about Felix, the day she realized she liked him more then a friend. She realized the time and got ready, brushing her teeth, eating, putting on makeup, and grabbing a nice fitted black dress that ended just before her ankles, the top ending around her collar bones, strapless. She wore a plain necklace, black comfortable heels, and stud earrings. Walking to her car she put her hair in a bun and sighed knowing she'll have to see the person she had dreaded to see after her dream.

As Jane walked into the department she realized she forgot her purse in the car, not feeling like walking back to her car she just went to her cubicle pulling out documents of her latest client. He was a middle aged businessman names Thomas Strodd, he is suing a former colleague Jennifer Hitchcock for defamation and slander. 'Jennifer Hitchcock, that sounds familiar' Jane thought.

Finally Jane remembered why she remembered the name, realizing that it was her former highschool best friend before they became distant after graduation, so she looked more into the trial and previous records of both of them, she realized that there was previous allegations of her client sexually assaulting his coworker named Jennifer Hitchcock but didn't face any jail time and didn't have any criminal records related to sexual assault for that case because allegedly someone payed the judge off so Thomas Strodd did not face any punishments. She also uncovered that Thomas Strodd was a registered sex offender. Jane realized that he was going to lose either way and it would only damage her and the companies reputation. Also, if she won she would put a innocent person in jail.

As Jane got ready to call her client and schedule a meeting a hand roughly grabbed her shoulder. " Hey monkey. " Felix laughed out calling Jane by her 17 year old nickname. Jane jumped looking back at him angryly, " God damnit Felix! You scared me!" Jane whisper yelled out causing Felix to laugh. Felix and Jane have been best friends since birth, their mothers and fathers have been best friends since highschool so they grew up together. Felix got the nickname "bunny" because he would jump on his knees like a bunny from ages 2-8 but then got out of the habit. Jane got the nickname monkey because from ages 6-18 she would climb trees and dangle down, sometimes staying in a sturdy tree for hours reading or napping.

" You look tense, what's wrong?" Felix asked after he finished laughing. " Oh, nothing, I just gotta cancel a client because it's a bad one that I should have done more research in." Jane replied dryly. " Ah come on Janey you can tell me what's really wrong." Felix said playfully pushing her shoulder. " It's just, ah it's stupid." she said sighing. " Oh come on you can tell me anything, nothing is too small or too big." he said pulling up a chair sitting in front of her rubbing her knee. " Agh, fine, my client is suing Jennifer Hitchcock, for defamation but he actually sexually assaulted her and I feel so bad for not being there for her and staying in contact with her. I should have messaged her. " Jane said looking away.

"Awww, it's not your fault Jane, I promise you! Things happen and it's not your fault for that. If she really wanted to talk to you she would have messaged you. " Felix said with a pitiful expression. " Yeah, I guess you're right." Jane said with a sigh, " but I have to get back to work bunny, and so should you!" She said playfully pushing him away. Felix chuckled and lifted up his hands in defeat, walking away. Before he finally left he yelled something to Jane, " REMEMBER! TONIGHT AT SEXY AND SWEET!" Jane rolled her eyes and another person yelled back " SHUT UP! PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO WORK AND NOT FLIRT WITH THEIR GIRLFRIEND! " Jane giggled and went back to work, calling her client to schedule a meeting.
